I am on my second beer already watching the Nebraska-Pittsburgh game. The Huskers Defense is eating up the Pitt Offense, but the Husker Offense continues to squander scoring opportunities. I wish I was watching this game with other people so I could play the Brent Musberger drinking game.
I saw that Georgia was struggling a bit wit LA Monroe, but is now sitting comfortable.
The Michigan, Louisville and Texas A&M games were Super Ugly today.
Nebraska finally scored on a bootleg, so I am now excited.

I'm hopeful that Washington can beat Idaho today (they're up 7-0 in 2nd Q)---it may be their only chance for a W this season. The fact that I think Idaho has a decent shot at beating UW is just plain depressing.

My how the mighty have fallen. Who woulda thunk that Washington and Nebraska would have such shitty teams.

I rooted for, and watched way too much, Vanderbilt for financial reasons. If I wasnt really happy(they covered), I'd be feeling pretty low(degenerate)

Yeah, I dont know WTF was going on with UGA---it wasnt on TV (and I couldnt keep up with 3 games on TV, an online ticker AND Munson's blathering on the radio all at once). Hopefully Derris will have some insight.

Currently flipping between Notre Dame/MSU & Alabama/USC though I got sidetracked on some Nova special about Venice.....

I tend to think Nebraska is a good team with a still suspect coaching staff that is struggling with an overly complex WCO rather than using a more simplistic Norm Chow BYU/USC WCO.
Had Nebraska continued to use Bo Pellini's Zone Blitz ball hawk mentality last year, like they have pretty much reverted to this year, Nebraska would have most likely been 8-3 last year.
The Huskers turned the ball over too much and failed to cause turnovers in close games.
Washington was just the victim of Neuheisel like Colorado was for quite sometime. The Huskies were dominant under him for a few years, but his recklessness left them high and dry after he got fired.

If Houston Nutt had taken that job, you guys would probably be in the Big 12 Champ. game THIS year.

Yeah, I wouldnt want my kid to be anywhere near Rick Neuheisel. Blech. He almost makes Hal Mummy look clean.

I disagree, Houston Nutt seems to be one of the most overrated coaches we contacted. His Arkansas team lost to Vandy, that would be like the Huskers losing to Baylor. I am glad that we were fortunate enough to have both he and Wannstedt pass on Lincoln.
Urban Meyer is the guy the Huskers should have went after before he had his unbeaten season at Utah and left for Florida.

yeah, somehow those shmucks did it again. it's so funny to see everybody here bandwagon on like they do every time one of the sports teams starts playing decently. the saddest, richest people in the world, all contained in one square mile down here.

Yeah, dude has also had his team in the SEC Championship game in the past 3 years, and beat Texas at home two years ago. Down season this year. Nutt has done pretty well considering what he is up against in recruiting EVERY year. I think your shortsightedness is shortselling him....

But whatever, your coach is Bill Callahan---Gahhhhhhhhh YOU SORRY!!!!

I give Nutt tons of credit for beating Texas, but I would view his hiring the same way I viewed Callahan and Les Miles hire at LSU, it would have been a zero sum trade at best and possibly a step in the wrong direction.

I personally don't like Callahan and his system, but I can't stop cheering for the only thing that separates Nebraska from the Dakotas and Wyoming in most people's eyes.

BTW, I had to stop watching the Husker game for a bit, they are still leading 7-6 but look like they are heading for a loss. If that happens, I can't wait for the riot to begin.
I can't believe the Huskers can't dominate a team that our former coach beat with freaking Ohio U.

Nebraska missed a FG to essentially force Pitt to drive down field during the last 90 seconds to score a TD.
I keep having to switch to the MSU-ND game to avoid breaking expensive items in my apartment.
It will probably be one Nebraska's last wins this year if they hold on.
While not excusing the Huskers putrid offense, they did get a terrible excessive celebration call on a first down that put the Huskers in decent FG range. All the RB did was point down field to signal a first down.

Holy Crap, Huskers win after Pitt botches two FG with less than ten seconds.
The first try was a bad snap that the holder never saw. The kicker threw the ball up field to no one, which should have ended the game with an intentional grounding call, but Pitt got another chance.
Huskers blocked the second try to preserve a pathetic 7-6 win.

I didn't really expect the Sooners to go out to UCLA and pull off the victory with this team...so I was just looking for some improvement...and I feel like I saw it

Bomar finally looked comfortable back there in the pocket and he's a little more shifty than I had given him credit for

they shouldn't have anymore games where they fumble the ball 40 times or however many it was...there were issues with getting the snap, but that'll get worked out

pass D is still dodgy though

Ya know, the way the season is going, I'll take that---thanks. Normally I wouldn't for a win over Idaho, but a W is a W.

And the same to you for Nebraska's squeaker over Pitt. The ABC affiliate here switched to that game for the final few seconds, so I caught the 2 botched FGs. Like I said, a W is a W.

I laughed my ass off when I read the name Jim Bob Cooter followed by Rusty Kuntz, they might top the great Nebraska player names of Wonder Monds and I.M. Hipp from the 70's.

I think FT may have gone straight after today. Nice comeback by the Irish (whom I've always hated), but that flag planting thing the Spartans did at the end was absolutely NO CLASS.

While the name thing's going, I could've sworn that the broadcasters of last week's LSU/ASU game were calling one of the ASU receivers Mo Nuts. Turned out to be Mo Mutz. Boy was I disappointed.

One of UNC's tailbacks is Cooter Arnold.

Indeed I have. No more Weis-based homoeroticism for me! It's time for ND to finally nut up and realize they will never be the powerhouse they once were, and drop to I-AA for a return to respectability...if on a much smaller scale.
