Well, once again the CMJ convention is over and done with and as usual, i'm hoarse and very sleepy. I had a great time seeing everyone from the board and I hope I didn't come off as a complete alcoholic (what you people turn me into when we hang out)

Highlights: Wednesday

A&R worldwide party-lots of free wine, cheese, and gourmet appetizers like shots of watermelon puree with truffle and feta cheese.

Octupus Project @ Rothko...totally fun and packed...go see this band

Thurs:
-Most Serene Republic @ Fader Party
-Arcade Fire @ Central Park...I wasn't totally surprised by the David Bowie appearance, but it was some serious fun though
-Wrens @ Mercury Lounge...I was pretty drunk by this point after the Mute/SubPop/Merge/Astralwerks/Touch&Go combo party...so drunk I was able to get on stage and play a little percussion...possible pictures to come

Fri:
Post Hangover Lunch @ Caravan Of Dreams w/Dri...no its not some kick ass new band, we just needed something to nurse the hell we went through on thurs.

Pre-Riviera Party w/The Obner Gang...I had just come from a party so I was the first one there (and already fairly drunk!) Again, it was great getting to hang out with everyone and also meeting those of you who have managed to avoid me the past few years. Plus, Riviera was pretty damn good, though by that point I was just plain tired.

Sat:
AAM Party @ Northsix (Wolf Parade, Constantines, Matt Pond PA, Against Me)...I got shitfaced and wolf parade was amazing...hooray.

then I ended up on some rooftop in brooklyn until around 3 in the morning...its a bit hazy.

I think that you're in the wrong thread. You should be at the abuse survivors outreach...

Katie,

Who are you seeing tonight?

Edit: How was butch walker? I've heard good things about him, or as good as old fashioned hard rock can get, so I downloaded a few tunes and hated it, and thought maybe it was just me not getting his message.

Holy shit! I wish I knew about this, or something like that. I would have LOVED to see that.

Sounds like it was awesome.

well, it sounds awesome, but...

went forever, r.a. only played songs from the new rekkid and two from cold roses, jesse malin was a whiney little pisser, joseph arthur was cool but people were yammering, deborah harry got a case of the "common old", david johansen should refrain from singing slave spirituals, butch walker was cute, ted leo is much better with his band, psychic drive was pretty neat but nothing to stick around for at 1:15am. and WHY THE HELL DOES ANYBODY LIKE MARAH!?!?!? what the hell is wrong with you?

so anyway, mixed bag. but i was, like, eight feet away from ryan adams and my little heart nearly burst.

You were there?! Godddamn. If only I had known before hand.

And Scotland Yard Gospel Choir was pretty good, though you couldn't move because Arlene's is so damn small.
