I will repost this here since this the "new' BB

question #1) What the deal with Dresden Dolls? I've only heard the one single playing on the radio, "Coin-Operated Boy". I like the single quite a bit, but haven't heard the rest of the album. Is it any good or are they just another one hit wonder?
Question #2) I am poor and on a tight budget but there are two shows I want to check out this coming week. One is Sparta and the other is The Arcade Fire. I never seen or heard either band but I like the reviews for both and heard "of them". The shows are on different nights. The Arcade Fire is on Monday night at a small club, admission $8. Sparta is Tuesday night, a larger venue that typical charges $5 to park your car, BASTARDS!!!, admission $15. Opening for The Arcade Fire are the Sweet Bleeders and opening for Sparta is Copeland and a local band who I've been meaning to check out anyway called Beyond Analong. Please give me your thoughts on these questions as I trust completely in your collective vast knowledge of The CMJ communtity.
Thanks ~Mike

So far the consense is to go see The Fire Arcade. What about the Dresden Dolls? Worth picking their release?

question 1: i liked the coin-operated boy, and especially girl anachronism, but i wasnt crazy about the rest of the album. i say, get the songs, skip the album.

Question 2: I suggest The Arcade Fire.... it'll be cheaper, and possibly more entertaining, than the other show. I know all their shows out here (L.A.) seem to be selling out - very little pun intended...
