For me, techno is synonymous with a certain type of drug and once you've crossed that line, so they tell me, things make a lot more sense.

i won't lie
this is very true.

i went through a year or two romance with both trance, deep house and a certain drug.

I also went trough this...

find out who he was playing. there is some really good house and some really bad house. depends if he was playing tech, minimal, french, disco, funky, etc... and house and techno are 2 different sides of the spectrum.

Picasso rocks the house music late in the eves, and here are a couple of my favorite labels/sites Naked Music has some sweet smooth sophisticated sounds. Erich and the guys at Studio Distribution represent some great Vienna house acts and are the distributors for K7 here in the USA. basically, people drink longer when its on, and it promotes some degree of randiness, too.
And Djs like Mark Farina out of SF or Miguel Migs are great DJs of the House/funky house genre. I am the first to agree there's a fine line between bad and good house, but investigating (like with any genre) leads to some good sounds.

No, but I will go to Ultraviolet in November I'm sure I need my dose of Bodyrock. I saw Curd in '01 at a party I think Jonra did & wasn't that into it. But Saturday I went to the last Unlock the House ever. Almost twice as many people as the Sub Level over the Summer & a better set from Doc. Fat wherehouse with a/c. It was craaaaazzzy.

Never been a fan, though a live Plastikman set cause me to respect it a lot more. When it's done well, it's amazing. I just haven't heard/experienced the good stuff that often.
