You could see it that way, but it seems more likely that it's a reference to the common punk/rock refrain.

I think exclamation marks are pretty much unecessary, but then I like the name The Ladybug Transistor which is some folk's least favorite name.

Why is I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness any worse than And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead? Both names are silly, but they're supposed to be,

It isn't, or not by much. I started to mention Trail of Dead, too. Even the idea that there is intended irony in their names is annoying.
