Quick Diatribe: I'm sick of the fucking hiphop kids. So far (since I switched bars), they havent been too prevalent so I havent been playing as much hiphop. Last night, this guy--not a kid, a GROWN ASS MAN about my age is like "man, you got some interesting music" blah blah blah, basically trying to clown me. I just laughed. Then when that Kanye song came on he was like, "see now you're playing some music". (for reference, this dude is sitting right in front of me) so I say (on mic) "Look dude, I'm not gonna have you crying about the music all night" This dude FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT, called over the manager, basically tried to big wheel me, because of what I was/wasnt playing. So they moved him to the other side of the bar.

Moral: You're a grown man. Shut up and drink your beer. If you want to control the music in a bar, start running a Bingo game. Also, I did end up playing like 4 extra hiphop songs because some young bucks I know (niggas like Red and Clin) were in the house and they actually asked nicely.....And people LOVED it. Why dont these people like rock music at ALL? It could be the Beatles, Belle and Sebastian, or Slayer and its all the same----White Folks Music.... And these kids are WHITE. They dont even dig on James Brown!!! (which to his credit, the one actual Brother in the house did) Baffling.

Anyways, I thought the music rocked the house last night, and truth be told, I get tons of compliments:

Intro:
22 Hours of Darkness – Ike Reilly
Hard Way To Fall – Ryan Adams

Bhindi Bhagee – Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros

Hey, Johnny Park! – Foo Fighters
Happiness Is A Warm Gun – The Beatles
Soul Suckin’ Jerk – Beck

Gold Digger – Kanye West
Tommy’s Disease – The Paddingtons
On A Night Like This – Bob Dylan
10 A.M. Automatic – Black Keys
Sixteen Military Wives – Decemberists
Gene Autry – Beulah
Do Do Wap Is Strong In Here – Curtis Mayfield
Do You Want To – Franz Ferdinand
Kara Dean – Ike Reilly
Feel Good Inc. – Gorillaz
PDA – Interpol
Fast As You – Dwight Yoakum
Get On The Good Foot – James Brown
Hot Dog (Watch Me Eat) – Detroit Cobras
No, Not Now – Hot Hot Heat
Slump – Outkast
California Waiting – Kings of Leon
Ghostface Killah – Ironman
Goodie Mob – Dirty South
I Got Loaded – Los Lobos
Bowtie – Big Boi
Freeway – What We Do

REG AND CLI?!?!! NOICE, how are those cats holdin up? You give 'em a big up from Big Day?

Dude, this all boils down to dudes like Scotty D and Raz beating the brakes offa folks for touching stereos in HS. Or something. I dunno, I don't get it either. Nice move on gettin that busta hauled off, and even nicer playlist. As I said yesterday I would love to hit this one more time...

Nice set. I don't get how people get so into hip hop that it's now the beacon of realness or interesting music.

No. (though thankfully, I didnt have to confirm this first hand, not on a Tuesday, Bubba)

Rumor is they were there on a collection mission/meeting with your boy The Propreitor.

Not surprising. You know how the restaurant biz goes.

I NEVER thought I'd be around for the day that you played a hip hop song and a fucking "grown-up" said "NOW you're playing some music!".

YELCH!!!

It's people like this that make me want to bite someone's face.

EDIT: Motherfucker I'm still sitting here fucking pissed. And I'm across the fucking country.

I seriously have to say that if I were you man, I would've come with WHITEST shit I could possibly find after a comment like that. Cause FUCK HIM!

Oh, and you have to have just a tiny amount of taste to like James Brown.

AAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!! I need a beer or something.

This dude wanted to fight me. He was so pissed, mainly because I called him out on mic. And then he tried to big time me with Austin, like "Austin, make this guy play ______"

Austin is smart enough to know that:

A. I dictate the music. Without my playlist, there is no Bingo. Period.
B. Apparently this dude spends a lot of $$$ at the bar so Austin was smart enough to be diplomatic and move him instead of letting him leave all pissed off, which he was about to do. What a douche.

I will note that he was a huge 'roided up looking motherfucker. I honestly thought that he might wait for me in the parking lot.

ImageHe's about as white as it comes and yet he plays the blues. What a conundrum!
