Hands down, one of the BEST shows this year! All ten members onstage at The Troubadour -- horn section to the left, guitars on the right, sax in my face. It's primarily a sausage fest surrounding me -- early in the evening, someone commented, "Madness is a man's band". It certainly appeared to be so. Definitely, a wide range of ages and the place is packed to the gills. No extra tickets to be found.
The band sang many of their old hits, some of their new stuff and kept the audience dancing and sweating the entire time. Ok, maybe wearing a business outfit to the show wasn't such a good idea after crawling out of the club looking like a wet rag. The band prove that people in their 40's can kick ass! They had us grasped tightly in their clutches and weren't lettin' go -- makin' us singalong and dance, dance, dance! Goddamn, what a fuckin' incredible time we had!
Dana, if it at all possible, I can't encourage you enough to go. If you were a fan back in the day, you're guaranteed to have a fantastic time at their show. How can a good time not be contagious?
