Holy crap I actually found sources on declining child abuse rates:

USA Today [McPaper] from August 24, 2005

An article from Pew Research Center from 2000 noting HHS claims of declines for five years straight into 1998.

If I ever have a kid, this will be printed on their lunch bags, t-shirts, folders, etc for their entire lives:

TIPS FOR PREVENTION
These are tips for kids to help prevent them from being abused:
1. Check with a parent before accepting gifts or going anywhere with anyone.
2. Hang out in groups. Try not to walk or go out alone.

3. Trust your instincts.

4. Don't feel compelled to keep secrets from parents.

5. If someone touches you inappropriately, say "no" loudly, get away and tell an adult.

6. Dial 911 in emergencies.

7. Know your full name, phone number, address and parents' phone numbers.

8. Never give personal information online or meet online friends in person.

9. Report scary or explicit e-mails.

10. Have names and phone numbers of five trusted adults for emergencies.

Why? Who are they harming (besides the starlets, and that's mostly voluntary)? They help to stimulate the economy. I think as soon as they do the numbers, they'll drop this full-frontal attack like a used condom.

That Jenna is pretty cute, but I prefer adults (or [what's the plural of MILF, 'milves'? 'MILFs'? Or is it like milk -- it's its own plural] MILF [Moms I'd Like to Fuck]). I realize she is, but I prefer her to look like one. I don't go for that faux-little-girl look. Reminds me of the baby in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Or that midget in Lil' Rascals.
