So, his son is in the country right now and was on the radio talking about how much scarier theshit is not than it was then, but in the course of the interview it was menioned that he wrote a book called Sozaboy. Has anyone ever read this or heardabout this? I've read many of his speeches and exceprts of his jail diary, but I'm curious to check this out, especially since I seel to be going through a bit og an African fiction phase lately.

Edit: anyone who doesn't know who this guy is and what he went through should wiki his name posthaste.

wasn't that Achebe's Things Fall Apart? Pretty sure that's the only African bok I read in high school.

Bigger scam in college: anthro or sociology?

Discuss.

I say Sociology and I even took a couple of upper levels as PolSci electives.

i took classes in both and i remembered a lot more from anthro, though that might be because the anthro classes i took were far more specific in topic.

Sociology was by far the bigger waste of time, even if anthro perpetuates the idea that the whities need to patronize the savages.

Man, Sociology was perhaps the most boring college class I have ever taken. I have deliberately erased the experience from my memory.

At least with Anthro you get to see films about naked Africans eating bugs and piercing their lips with round bowls. Now that's what I call quality entertainment.
