True, and I still think that every other AL team is so full of holes that it may happen, although now I wouldn't bet on it.

On second thought, it's really hard to bet on a team winning a playoff series when it hasn't won a single one since 1917

I'll give you a successful season. There's no debating that at all. But billyg is right, the pro-Sox tone has leveled off some from mid-summer.

You really don't understand baseball if you think the manager is somehow "to blame" for an average team winning 91 games. He should be manager of the year, no matter how the team does down the stretch.

I like Guillen. I think he's a good manager and a good fit for the team they have.

But if he's manager of the year based on their first half, then I guess Lee Mazzilli is runner up? I can't see how if the Yankees make the playoffs after their slow start and injury problems that Torre wouldn't be a serious contender. To me, its between him and the indians manager.

Ozzie's problem is that he has too much loyalty to certain players (Marte and Duque). Damaso needs to man up because we'll most likely see him tonight. His bullpen management has been poor... although last night, he played it correctly.

It's been a helluva war between these two teams so far.

Divison championship would be icing on the cake. Making the playoffs this year exceeded my expectations, which were to contend (Shapiro's original three-year-goal back in '02). I'm pleased with this season however it works out. I'd rather have both Sox in the playoffs than the Yankees.
