Party out of Bounds. Anyone else read this book? It follows the rise of the B-52's, REM, and Pylon. Discusses the differences between the music scene in Atl. and Athens. Killer stories of wild parties, loose women, drugs and booze all taking place in the dorms and around town.

A short/fun must read for any former WUOGer, UGA student, and Athens resident. Good shit.

Thanks dude.

Where was this book when I was openly obsessed with all things Athens around 96-97?

You know that the big sign for the original Tyrone's where all those bands used to play is now on the wall in the GA Theatre I believe.

I'll have to check it out. I've always said that if I could've gone to UGA during any period of time it would've been from 78-82. You could've seen all these bands in their infancy and seen UGA win a National Championship plus a couple SEC titles.

The town was much different then.

Football, Art freaks, and OPEN Dummies. There are many folks that say HOPE ruined UGA. I like to think we were the last of a dieing breed. I do know that by the time folks who graduated hs in 97 and 98 rolled around, hip hop nights became more prevalent, and downtown became less of an ethos and more of a place to go "get crunk." By that I mean, the kids loved to come down at night, but didn't understand eating at T-Stand or getting rekkids at Wuxtry or whatever Schoolkids used to be.

Ben, next time I see you, I wanna get this from you (and my klosterman book)
