It's not as bad as I feared.
Certainly not as good as what she is capable of.
But better than "Sheryl Crow lite".

I'm not going to go out and get the record, but I didn't mind hearing the song on XRT yesterday. Which is more than I can say about the songs from her s/t record from a couple of years ago.

It's a pop song with not much wrong with it, for a pop song.

Doesn't make it very interesting.

I like it, mind you I didn't see what all the hate fuss was about regarding her last album either.

There's some good songs on the last album but it was a pop album and lots of people wanted more pissed-divorced-n-fuckin' songs.

Musically it's pretty bland.

What happens when a woman chooses how she wants to direct her career and sensitive fanboys who depredate one who doesn't perform the way they feel they should.

Damn typo - I meant to write "less" not "loss," but I think most people figured it out.

What happens when a woman chooses how she wants to direct her career? She either continues to have success with her current fanbase (if she makes a smart choice - see Aimee Mann for a good example of this), or she loses the original supporters for a ragtag collection of junior high students and soccer moms.
