I already own all the books. I'm wondering if I should buy this. Maybe if I'm ever able to register for an eBay account. It's pretty pricey.

me too...but it'd be nice to have them on one big package and in order as well....ill wait till some used copies start circulating....it is my favrite strip of all time...

although GET FUZZY is giving it a run for its money...another 5 solid years and it may be a tough call.

Add this to the list of stuff I would love to receive as a gift, but will have to buy for myself if I ever want to see it.

I just noticed the other day that The Boston Globe is re-running Calvin & Hobbes.

Get Fuzzy is ok, but it's no C&H.

The only other comics I really enjoy are Monty (formerly Robotman), Boondocks and Mutts. There's a couple in the Boston Herald that I like but I never read that shit paper.

The first time I saw it, it was a strip I didn't remember seeing before and I thought for a moment that they were brand new.

This looks enticing until I realize that one can easily pick up all of the earlier C&H books at thift shops for like 50 cents each.

I think it's in part promotion for this collection. I also read that Bill Watterson would be answering a bunch of questions that were sent in to him. I can't remember the date, I don't think it's passed yet.

Yeah, we've been getting the reruns in the KC Star, too.

If any of you have Costco memberships, I recommend waiting to see if they have this "C&H" collection there. I remember them selling the "Far Side" special volume thingy really, really cheap ( like, $75-80 ) .

I'll also throw in a recommendation for a current strip - Pearls Before Swine. It's consistantly funny, & the "crockydile" entries are damn near genius status.

Available, along with a lot of others, at www.comics.com .

Agreed. Though Bloom County gets the overall nod from me...

Yeah, I've already got all the C&H books; this is just a ploy to get my money. Hmph.

Isn't there, like a word for "real-only-to-him"??

Here's the Q&A with Bill Watterson that I mentioned earlier:

Yes.
Better than Bloom County, brilliant as that was.

To those of you who disagree with me:

The only one that comes close to C&H for me is Pogo (which I really need to investigate further).

Costco uses cheap, made up words...& passes the savings along to its customers.
