After reading stuff like this, is it any wonder the Dem party can't find its ass with both hands, a map and a flashlight?

Good God.

Personally, I'd rather vote for the duck.

Will Ben's campaign ads similarly feature a bewildered-looking black guy at the end of every one of his commercials? 'Cause that would win votes, right?

It's not -- all three are ridiculous. I don't care for competitions in which the contestants try to out-ridiculous each other.

...any more.

Ventura was at least a mayor for a term or two before he ran. People had a record to look at and judge what they were getting.
Ahnuld... oye. That's just a circus of the ridiculous thing right there. But even then, he's got Kennedy family connections to utilize. At least it's something.

All Affleck's done in the political realm is bone *allegedly* John Kerry's daughter.

And my quarrel isn't so much with Affleck himself. It's that Democrats think this is a sound method for toppling 11+ years of a conservative-dominated Congress that's dressed up in Jesus robes while it has marginalized the non-white non-rich, assaulted the environment, abortion rights, gay rights, civil rights, privacy rights and a raft of social programs, spent like it was the New Deal, cut taxes, tried to neuter Social Security, fought one unjustified war, botched a justified one and is now washing its hands of all responsibility for not swiftly helping in the recovery of the nation's worst natural disaster.

Pee Wee Herman should be able to beat these jackasses, but that doesn't mean I like him as an option.

I'm not so hot on the dude who swung the paddle in "Dazed and Confused" either.

I posted this story to a couple of friends, and here's what one of them responded:
Quote:
Peter,

Voting for Ben Affleck for senator could be a first step toward saving the movie industry. Look at what having Arnold as gov has done for action flicks (OK, bad example. There hasn't been a good one since he was voted in). Still the precedents are there. Think of the movies that weren't made when Ronald Reagan entered politics or the songs that weren't sung when Sonny Bono went to the Hill. Maybe we should start a petition to get Ben Stiller to run for Congress. While guys like Affleck or Stiller can be considered algae on the talent pool in Hollywood, they would actually be an upgrade on the acting coming out of Washington.

Jude Law for Parliament in 2006!

God, I forgot all about this calamity waiting to happen.
So I guess this means that B-level movie stars and NFL Europe bench sitters are the next great hope for democracy in America.

Pardon me while I abstain from planning for the 2006 celebration parade.

He's actually, despite being a Volunteer, one of the coolest, nicest most humble people I have ever dealt with. He damn near hired me, but I wouldn't bail on the campaign I was on, and I made a commitment to my guy the DA to work his race for AG...I wish Heath all the luck in world, and that district really needs a guy like him if it ever wants to not be one of the poorest in the country.

You may seem the most rigid posters in temperment and likes and dislikes, but you usually will manage to surprise at least once a week... Good words on a Dem. that DIDN'T hire you, and a former UT qb on top of that?

Good Lord, you're either hitting the Krylon again, and hardcore I might add, or you're not quite the towering impetulance you appear...

I'd say, a little bit from column A, and a little but from column B :gir:
