I need to re-listen to this. Last week it did absolutely nothing for me.

Dig it a lot. Between this and Cold Roses, I think he's having a great year. I hear there's one more in December as well.

I picked up Cold Roses too tonight and decided to put that one in first. So far I'm really enjoying this and I heard it gets a lot better after repeat listens. I now have three new discs of him, but luckily I enjoy everything he's done. (i never got rock and roll, although "so alive" is an awesome song)

Top 5 for the year for sure I think I might like it better than cold roses.

I cannot wait to steal this from Busty.

Yes, Cold Roses has some legs to it. I am still enjoying the hell out of it many listens later.

Cold Roses is good, but this one is a test of endurance.

How about lines like this:
Now the diner in the morning for a plate of eggs
The waitress tries to give me change I say, "Nah, it's cool. Just keep it"

That's terrible, but at least it didn't find its way into the song itself. What's worse, is the diner line is so forced. It's ten pounds of syllables in a five pound bag.

But at the end of the day, the guy turns out very good material, and shitloads of it. I can write a few ?'s off.

A little editing goes a long way.

This record is garbage. I just turned it off midway through again. I can't finish it.

Aside from my already stated view of Karoake Kountry, Adams' voice is too high to get that close to traditional country. He sounds like fucking Vince Gill or some shit.

Don't you go Vince Gill bashing in here. No sir! I don't own any of his albums, nor will I ever, but that man is one of a dying breed, who can play the living bejeezus out of a guitar without cracking a sweat, and has what most consider a very nice voice, and can write a song as well, and isn't an asshole. That's getting very, very rare. And I for one respect him for it.

Isn't an asshole? Didn't he hook it up with Amy Grant while he (and she) were still married, and now they toddle out on Barbara Walters and talk about their true love while their exes are left in the background?

...I see no problem with that. Guy wants him some Amy Grant. He's one of the most genuine, nextdoor kinda guys I've ever seen. I didn't know about the adultery, but shit happens.

I saw Vince Gill in New Orleans before the LSU vs Oklahoma National Championship game. He was eating breakfast one table over. Seemed very regular. He was decked out in Oklahoma gear like John Q. Fan.

I cannot argue with that, because it is correct.

Johnny Gill, however, is the best cross-eyed member of New Edition ever.
