Even if you don't have visible warts, most people who have ever been sexually active carry a strain or two of the HPV virus. Condoms don't protect.

Additionally, if you're a woman or have sex with women, the strains most associated with cervical irregularities are not the strains most likely to produce visible warts.

The good news is that for many years doctors thought they were forever (as they still think about herpes), but new evidence suggests that most folks immune systems will eliminate the virus in a few years.

Seems to me that this would be difficult to prove in a court of law. Especially since people can carry the virus and never have symptoms.
