It would have to have been an industry only thing or something. Los Angeles is famous for that and I was in San Francisco at that time and they definitely didn’t play there. I thought they would tour when Sony picked them up but a few months later their second album came out. Sony took months before they actually got around to putting out Fuzzy Logic.

Sorry Obner, I get obsessive about trivial things like this and I’m not working so…

The lack of Denver dates is a serious letdown.

OK I got to the bottom of this I think, as it’s hard to find this info even in this day and age. SFA did play some shows prior to 1999 and that is when Todd must of saw them. Guerrilla was the first official tour for this band in America because of Sony bailing out on them. Does anyone from CMJ or NY remember this:

Quote: okay. as i remember it, i first-first saw them at CMJ in about 1997 at the mercury lounge. it was some creation records showcase thing and i think 18-wheeler was playing with them. as with a lot of CMJ shows, they'd just sort of sling the bands into whatever venue and in whatever lineups they could, so the place was packed and i could barely see the band, but they sounded great. someone'd plastered those perfect black and red and yellow round SFA logo stickers all up and down the block when we left the venue. the band wasn't doing a proper tour, a lot of uk bands had popped over to just play at CMJ -- then, when they finally did proper cross-country visits to the states, i saw them open for pavement at cane's ballroom in san diego (1999). this got filmed for that REVERB show that used to be on HBO, btw. they weren't playing a real L.A. date, just the coachella festival.EndQuote

This is when I finally got a chance to see them in 1999. BTW does anyone have a copy of the REVERB show with them in it? The only REVERB show I saw was with Built To Spill and it was fantastic, much better than when I actually got to see them live.

Didn't know they were starting their tour here.

So, we'll be getting SFA fresh out of the box. Haven't even listened to the new album yet. Should get on that.

Caribou will be supporting them at these dates, which makes it even better.
