There were a few things of interest on last night's show.... I usually have to re-watch them to catch everything.

Desmond clearly doesn't remember who Jack is-- it's fair to say he's been stuck in that hatch for a long time. Let's.... do.... the time warp AGAIN!

Anyone notice that Michael gave young Walt a stuffed polar bear? Hmm, methinks Walt has the ability to manifest "things" into reality. Remember the polar bear on last season?

Apparently, according to other discussion forums, the symbol that is on all of Desmond's stuff (his jumpsuit, his food, etc.) was also on the "shark" that tried to attack Sawyer. The symbol looks like a Dharma wheel, and may even say DHARMA on it.

Was glad to see Jin made it out alive.

As for this illness that Desmond and Danielle speak of, who has it? How do you know when someone has it? Is the illness insanity?

there was also a polar bear in a comic book that Walt was reading right when the bear appeared as well.

there was a symbol on the shark? i missed that.

Yeah, I didn't see the symbol either, but apparently a lot of other people did... I'd have to rewatch it. Plus my tv sucks, and with Lost being as dark as it is, it's a wonder I can see anything.

awesome show. can't wait for next week.

i did notice the polar bear thing. and how desmond asked locke "are you him?", i immediately thought he is looking for walt. they both have "the gift".

How does Desmond have "the gift"? He seems pretty ordinary so far, except for living underground on an island in the middle of nowhere all by his lonesome self.

I thought the episode was pretty good. We learned about the raft people, while going a little deeper into what went on in last week's episode.

If Desmond lives alone, why does he use the top bunk? Are top bunks really that much cooler?

Damn, looks like I missed some key moments in my drug-induced TV watching state last night.

Rumor and speculation has it that Ethan Rom was in the bottom bunk, but who knows. I don't know if Desmond has the gift, but it seems as though he's waiting for someone special, like Walt.

edit: and while I will agree with e-stone that Locke has something special, it's nowhere near the capabilities that Walt has.

no, i'm thinking desmond has the gift. just like walt "willed" the polar bear, could it be possible that desmond "willed" jack's (future) wife to be healed after jack was positive that he failed to fix her?

edit: also, there has to be something more to desmond's advice to jack of "lift it up"

re: shark logo picture

How are people without TV supposed to catch these things?

Heck, even if I had Tivo, my TV's reception makes some of this show look like a group of blurs.

i think that the computer in the cave makes shit happen when you punch in the numbers - such as heal locke, make the shark appear, make the plane crash, whatever.

Interesting theory.... I'm also wondering what was in that water bottle he gave Jack to drink in last episode.

So anybody got any ideas about the numbers? It was an old style flip-number clock that went "235.... 236", and then Locke types the number sequence in and it all flips back to 108 (the sum of 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42)

well, when he hit execute, it reset all those numbers...not sure what that was about.

i was reading somewhere, that when walt appeared last week and whispered something, he was saying backwards "don't press the button, the button is bad"

Ideas as to whether the island the guys on the raft washed up onto is the same island, or possibly a different one?

I always suspected that if there were to be other survivors, they'd be on another island. That part of me that wants the show to progress more quicky hopes that isn't the case, though.

And did anyone else think Desmond's washer and dryer looked kind of new?

the computer keeps the beastly security system operational. the magnets inside the tunnel are what caused the plane to land on the island. desmond was sent to the island to monitor it... for some reason. how he could have met jack years prior and found him again is what i would like explained.

I refuse to watch season two right now, I tried last week, but without having seen One, I was mighty lost. No pun intended. Damnit I need to stop saying that.

Anyways, I'm just waiting patiently to get one to rent then hopefully season two...eh who am I kidding. By the time two comes out three will be on and I'll STILL be a season behind.

Meh.

Oh anyone catch invasion? I saw the last half, damn that sheriff is the creepiest dude ever. That last scene made me shiver.
