I'm scheduled to take the LSAT on Saturday.
I have done ZERO in the way of preparation, except for look at a few questions and determine that I know 2 sections well, and one I don't think any amount of studying is gonna help anyway.

I can change it to December for only $30.

Haq has told me that to go into without at least a sample to know where I am scoring is probably pretty dumb, which I agree.

For once in my life I feel like I should do more to prepare, if'n I really want to pursue the profession of law.

I would move it, then probably would do nothing to prepare. That's why I'm not a role model.

i don't know that studying did me much good. i friggin aced every section except the logic games. The thing is easy except those lil fuckers...the logic games are evil. no matter how much I practiced I never really did improve on them. i needed a certain score because there was only 1 school I was going to apply to and I knew what I needed to get in. I got it.

i agree it might be best to at least take a look at some sample questions though.

I WANT to care, but am having trouble caring.

I don't have a few days to study, and sleep fucked and travel fucked.

I am not confident I will do good, and for me that is the killer.

The GF won't be happy...

This is how I feel, but I think I wanna do a practice test to see if I can get the score range I need to get into the 1 or 2 schools I am seriously considering.

Change it.

Then unpack the confidence from the suitcase.

Loogar, you're a smart dude, but you gotta do some preparation because the LSAT aint like those exams you took in HS or even college that you could breeze through without some studying.

Reminds me of a friend who was wicked smart- valedictorian and all that shit. He went to Med school thinkin' it would be more of the same. Problem is in Med school you're often competing against people that are as smart or smarter than you. He either had to get used to taking exams and getting about 30% right or he had to finally actually study for something.

If you're going to do this, do it right, buddy.

just wait til you get to law school and have to write a 30 page paper on IRC section 1060 applicable asset allocations, the residual method, and the valuation of section 197 intangible assets.

due october 14th.

Biggest factor, according to me: Don't blow the money it costs to take that fucker. That was, in hindsight, my biggest motivation for the little bit of studying I managed for the GMAT... we poor. $250 hurts, so I wanted to get it done the first time around.

Move it and then study for it. I know someone who took it recently. She's a smart bird and she said it was fuckin' challenging.

gay fest, ha.

yah - just trying to figure out the internal revenue code for this advanced tax seminar class takes hours and hours. first you have the code, then the regs, then the "official" rulings of the IRS, then their "unofficial" rulings, then the case law, then the journals and other secondary sources to look at. then you have to come up with some kind of "original" analysis of problems/plusses re: the law and its application.

plus we turn in this paper, the prof rips it apart, and we have to do a serious revision on it. then our whole grade for the class is based on the paper. plus I have 3 other classes going right now with 30-50 pages of reading a night for each. plus a full time job. ok, no more whining.

take a timed practice test. subtract a few points from your score (i took it twice and could never quite match my practice scores). if you're happy, take it saturday. if not, move it and study.

I don't have the time to take the test. I talked to the gf, she made me promise to study for it if I move it, which I did. I can't promise I'll try, but I will try to try.

I knew the answer before I put this up, but just needed to get it off my chest. (Like the BBQ sauce I smeared on it last night ;) )

Definitely move it. You do have to prepare for it. The score haunts you for 5 years (for most schools in Calif at least) if you fuck it up. I have firsthand knowledge of such ghosting.

Sounds like you've got a good girl, keeping your shit in line and all. I'll get the real word from Benjy and Yail. Any chance any of you Dawg fans are coming up for the UGA/Vandy game? I'd love to get my hug on. I'll buy the Krystal and soup.

You made the right choice dude. Studying for the thing won't be that bad. Just do as many practice tests as you can. Concentrate on the logic games section more than others. That fucking section was like nothing I had ever seen.

You seem smart. You'll rock it.

Also be ready to get up at the ass crack of dawn, and then drive to the industrial section of town where the testing center is artfully hidden, and drive around for an extra 15 minutes looking for it. If it's anything like here, anway.
