there are only a few cassettes i used to have that i don't have on cd/mp3, none of them a priority. i could probably list all of 'em...

twisted sister [the one with the 2 hits]
white lion [the one with the 2 hits]
new edition hits

i repurchased ratt "out of the cellar" and kiss "animalize" this year, but the novelty has wore off. those albums just aren't as good as my memory of 'em. no reason to waste more money on the others.

I have pretty much my entire collection simply because I never trade in anything. However I did have quite a few albums stolen about ten years ago. It was mostly rubbish punk that I can live without but I do still thing about The Ruts' 'The Crack' from time to time.

It might not be the case now but back then it hadn't been re-released and was worth more than the average second hand album.

I never sell anything, I just lose it. I once found Teenager of The Year under my car seat after a 1.5-year-long hiatus. "Reunited and it feeels ... so good."

Sometimes I'll buy cd's I already have! Later, when I find out that I have a duplicate I get this incredilous look on my face and say, "Damn, I didn't think I had that..."

Elliott Smith - From a Basement on the Hill

I lost this within the last few months, and it is driving me fucking crazy because I really liked that album. And I know I'm never going to buy it again, because as soon as I do my old copy will pop up somewhere.

Maybe it's a good thing you guys gave this one up, because now you have an excuse to pick up the remastered edition, which sounds much better.

Seconded.

Thirded. Honestly, Chad Clark's work on the remaster made that album about 4x better (and I liked it before).

COOL! God, I miss Reclamation. That song all by itself shows why Joe Lally sorta made that band. Everyone else is good, but without him none of it would be great.

Fuck yes! "Reclamation" was my favorite too. I'm going to pick this up after work today. Gotta hear that badass intro.... fast guitar and slow groovy-ass bassline. Love it!

I think it was after Beelebubba, too. Like maybe the last album they ever did, because it sounded way different, with better production (which is to say "some" production) and if I remember right, it just stood out a lot from everything else.

I also have the worst memory ever, so I could have the wrong band. But I don't think so.

Maybe Metaphysical Graffiti? I always liked that one.

I thought I was out of my high-school rap phase, but this album still lingers...

too bad now, every time I go to the record store, it's like 16 bucks.

Sold about 90% of my punk rock records in the early 80s on a three year drinking binge.

Original copies of stuff like early 45 Grave EPs, Dicks and Big Boys records, some good compilations, a boatload of the early SST 45s, stuff by the Canadian Subhumans, DOA, a Misfits single or two, probably close to a hundred records that were almost impossible to get a store to wanna buy from you then for a couple bucks a piece for beer money for crap that I could sell for a stinkin' fortune on Ebay nowadays. A bunch of more commonly still available records by English bands too.

At least they've released most of that old stuff on CD, so I've picked up a good deal of it in that format to listen to. But, man getting rid of that stuff was one of my more stupid ideas over the years.

Love - (Boxset)

The first one was kidnapped by a certain drummer and returned with only the case.

The second was borrowed by a certain singer/songwriter who took it on tour during which it was stolen.

Ouch! Love - boxset! That even hurts me.

When I was first getting into Indie/College rock in the late 80's, I purged a lot of my classic rock stuff. The one I miss the most, I think is:
Aerosmith - Toys In the Attic

Yeah, they're a self-parody now, but that was an amazing album.
