The girl playing Violet in A Series Of Unfortunate Events is one of the prettiest teens I've seen. And I don't mean that perversely. I mean literally gorgeous. And she won't even be 15 until Tuesday. Like an Aussie kid version of Sophie Marceau.

I saw a promo poster today and did a double take. I'm glad you said this 'cause now I don't feel like as much of a perv.

Damn, just occurred to me she was the dead kid in Ghost Ship and was in Ned Kelly and Darkness Falls. Just a little kid in those.

That's a plus.

I hung out with Hermione/Violet chicks when I was in junior high and high school. Didn't see the point of being with the jocks when the goth/science/trippy girls were so much more...umm...more.

Yeah Spoon, I saw some movie preview thing about upcoming flicks the other day, and I was thinking the same thing about her.

Gorgeous kid.

I couldn't figure out who she reminded me of(though I was thinking a bit Isabelle Adjani, who I'll always think is one of the world's most beautiful women) I think you're right about Sophie Marceau.

You're much sicker than me for thinking that about me.

I never said she was anything sexual. I said she's very pretty, particularly in the movie trailers.

And I was better friends with smart, pretty (and slightly disturbing) girls like her when I was her age than I was with jocks.

Plus, she has great film presence. That skinny little kid was the most impressive thing about Ghost Ship, which was a really uneven movie that could have been much better.

I'd like to point out that what you're talking about would be among the most unholy of frigs.

Well, that's true. Poor choice of exclamation on my part, there. Yeah

To paraphrase Spongebob, they've taken an innocent statement and soiled it soiled it soiled it.

I never meant this to be a perv thread. I just was suprised at how pretty and poised and intelligent-appearing such a young kid can seem in her films.

I know what he means. I found this actress intruiging in the movie Lawn Dogs. She just seemed to have something special. She later appeared in The Sixth Sense, Skipped Parts and Lost and Delirious.

Some of you trash TV fans will recognize her in her current project. She needs to put on some weight though.

I saw it - it's pretty good. If you hate Jim Carrey, you probably want to stay away, since he's no different from how he is in any other movie. The humor, while very dry and clever in spots, caters more to kids than, say, the Incredibles did.

Worth seeing, not amazing.
