Eddytor's Dozen

They'll help you party down.Rock on indie labels still beats "indie rock" any day, if you're defining the latter as a genre where "rock" has nothing to do with rocking. (See Fireball Ministry title below.) But hey, it's a free country, sort of—you can still lump it all together under "obscure bands who employ guitars" if you want. And what do people complain about it? That it's not "going" anywhere and no longer "means" anything? Well, I can hear most of the bands below trying—especially maybe Deadly Snakes, Dirty Faces, Ewigkeit, and MX-80 in the "aim to capture the historical moment" sense, though others sound even hungrier. And as for the non-obscure, once indie Offspring, they went somewhere once. I still remember.

I really like Chuck Eddy...I wish he did more than these flimsy "Eddytor's Dozen" articles. His "Stairway To Hell" book is a CLASSIC...you gotta love a guy that puts a Teena Marie record in his Heavy Metal All Time Top 10.

For me, this is a rather clumsy sentance. The man's Press card should be snatched from the band of his pork pie hat, ripped up before him and scattered like confetti in his face.
