Curry, Antonio Davis for Tim Thomas, Mike Sweetney, Jermaine Jackson, and *two 2nd round picks and a conditional 1st round pick*

* this is rumored. If this part is true it's 100% a win for the Bulls. Otherwise, it's just about an even trade.

I like Eddie Curry, both as a player and as a person (from what I've seen of him in the media, obviously). I'm pretty down on this trade.

When Eddie was at Thornwood H.S. here in Chicago, the Sun-Times had him keep a diary of his experiences as a heavily promoted and recruited HS b-ball player. His day-to-day stuff; thoughts on the people wooing him, and just being a kid who gets to play the game he loves at an extremely high level, with a much higher profile than most HS b-ball players.

It was a good read every week and I just got to like the kid. I was very excited when the Bulls took him and have been enjoying watching him grow as a player.

I just hope that his heart thing is nothing dangerous.
And I hope he thrives with the Knicks (but not at the Bulls' expense).

from the trib:

Sources say the Bulls will get Michael Sweetney, Tim Thomas and Jermaine Jackson, whom the Knicks re-signed Monday. Curry could make up to $10 million in his first year—nearly double the amount of the Bulls' qualifying offer.

New York also will include a first-round draft pick and two second round picks as well. The deal still was being finalized late Monday night.

yeah, if that's the case, we win big time.

I'd trade Curry straight up for a 1st round pick and Sweetney

The Knicks are fucking retarded.

So, we take on Antonio Davis' albatross and give up Sweetney, Jackson, and Thomas' expiring-after-this-season cap relief?

Plus, 2 second rounders and a first rounder?

Even though the Knicks have needed a C since Ewing left (or, to be more accurate, since NAZR left the building for Malik Rose (?)), this is a lot to give up...

If this is true:
Malik Rose is never even getting off the bench anymore
Trevor Ariza is never getting off the bench either
That horrible Jerome James signing looks even more horrible
Channing Frye will get to play when the cows come home
Forget buried - Nate Robinson is about to be completely wasted, or else start - as someone from the Crawford, Marbury, QRich, and Alan Houston contingent will waste away...

I just think Vegas engineered this to take down the odds on Larry Brown being the first Knick to (literally) die on the court this season...

I'm actually excited to see how the Sixers do this season. I like their starting five but they have no bench whatsoever...

Did they get rid of Webber? I hope so.

No, but I'd like to see what Webber and AI could do together for a whole season.

really? I'm kinda petrified to watch this go down. I LOVE the idea of Mo Cheeks, but this is still one more coach that has to build a rapport with, and that so far takes an averate of like 4 years. The young guys look good (Samy D, Iguodala), but Webber's knees still suck and Korver still has a long way to go before i'd take him off the bench.
also, i don't know how this guy is gonna save anything.

So, the Bucks-Knicks trade that brought van Horn here and sent T.T. to NYC was eminently fair, and absolutely unnecessary?

Yes, it was.

Yes. The City of Chicago had some leftover Indian from a blow-out Sunday supper, so sent it to NY, which has a Marsala and such shortage.

I think that Daley threw in a coupla kebabs from Greek-town too.

Explanations of sports news for Music geeks who are so far out of the sports world that it's not even worth a sensical explanation:

Thanks for the clarification.

Anyone thinks the Celtics will be better or worse than last season? I'm hoping for better but we got a LOT of rookies and 2nd year dudes.

I don't think the Celtics will be good at all, sure the Bulls were all rookies and second year dudes, but they were a disciplined team. The Celtics just seem like the Blazers now. I don't even know what they're trying to do anymore.
