...the most criminally underrated album in their catalog.
Perhaps one of the most underrated albums in rock history.

Yeah, sure they gave the world a pop record instead of bombastic rock.
But it's a great pop record.
And I love John Paul Jones' production.

Just Heard "Fool In the Rain" on the way to work.
Goddamn great.

I always liked 'All of My Love' but never cared much for 'Hot Dog'.

Agreed. This was actually my intro into Led Zepplin. I used to be obsessed with "In the Evening".

"Carouselambra" was the only one I didn't really like. Solid swan song.

I don't know that I'd call it the most underrated album in history, but it's definitely a good record and Zep fans who have ignored it based on it's rep are missing out.

Some of it is schlocky and overproduced.....some of it really loose and cool.

In The Evening is pretty cool (awesome riff and I think Jimmy used a Strat(!)
Carouselramba(sp?) is one of my favorite Zep tunes. It Swings.
Hot Dog is fun.
Fool In The Rain....I used to hate it, now I would probably turn it up.
All My Love is garbage, but did give us insight into what Plants solo albums would sound like.....

I cant remember what the other tracks are like, probably havent listened to the end of Side 2 in 15 years.

I also have a soft spot for this album because I've got it on vinyl, still in the brown paper bag.

I know a lot of people who dismiss it as "their fucking pop record" or some such insanity.

A lot of people.

Prescence and Coda are underrated.

In Through just sounds weird.

yep' I'm with you there, I'm one of those Zep fans who dismiss I.T.T.O.D. as their pop rekkid. A few good songs. "All of My Love" is the only Zep song I turn off, garbage.

There's a keyboard part in "Carouselambra" ( sp ) that you can only hea r when yer stoned.

Swear to Gawd.

In my brain, at least.

It's not too bad, but it would never rank as a favourite of their oeuvre. I do love Fool in the Rain though.

I like it because there are a lot of synths on it.

Greatest album opener ever, especially after all of the anticipation.

Agreed. Great album.

I'm old enough to remember taking a toothbrush and dipping it in water and then running the slightly wet toothbrush, carefully, over the cover and, viola, it changed colours.

Gimmicky, but cool.

I agree about Presence being underrated, but not so much about In Through the Out Door.

Granted, it's been forever since I've listened to it, but as I recall, I only really like "Carouselambra" and "In the Evening" and maybe "Southbound Saurez" though I can't really remember what that one sounds like. "All of My Love" is easily their worst song with "Fool in the Rain" coming in close second and "Hot Dog" not far behind. ITTOD is definitely their worst album.

But that's the only reason, right? Because if it did count, it'd be the worst right? That'd be my point.

Yeah, probably. Although it might be kinda close.
