...as performed by Elvis Presley? (Well, not really Elvis, but a spot-on impersonator).

1) Come As You Are- Nirvana
2) Love Will Tear Us Apart- Joy Division
3) Song To The Siren- Tim Buckley
4) Whiskey In The Jar- Thin Lizzy (traditional)
5) Heard It Through The Grapevine- Marvin Gaye
6) Blockbuster- The Sweet
7) Sweet Home Alabama- Lynyrd Skynyrd
8 ) Working Class Hero- John Lennon
9) Something Else- The Sex Pistols
10) All Or Nothing- The Small Faces
11) 20th Century Boy- Marc Bolan
12) Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay- Otis Redding
13) Ball And Chain- Janis Joplin
14) No Woman No Cry- Bob Marley
15) Voodoo Chile- Jimi Hendrix
16) Whole Lotta Rosie- AC/DC
17) New York, New York- Frank Sinatra

Just Wondering,

fp

It would probably sound something like Eddie Cochran.

I'll stick with Dread Zeppelin.

That's what it is.

I wanted to put a song on a comp, but wanted to see first which one folks were most curious about.

That's what I get for posting while half asleep.

You have the import version with more tracks, I guess. I like his version of "Whole Lotta Rosie" a whole, uh, lotta.

I think "Love Will Tear Us Apart" would be awesome, but for some reason, while I'm singing it in my head like Elvis...it's coming out at Will Shatner.

You've heard it, then?

Yeah, the guy I got it from imported it. 18 tracks (I left off "that's All Right Mama").

I think it's pretty funny/cool/amazing/boring sometimes.

That's pretty much my take on it, too. lol. I pop it in a couple times a year on a goof. I got mine from Amazon a couple years back for around $5. It's the US version.

I do like the fact that the guy plays it straight, pretty much.

Probably the Nirvana or the Joy Division.

BTW, I got that comp. (Are we allowed to talk comps here?) Thanks! There were a couple really good tracks on there that will lead me to investigating those bands further. The Velvet Teen was okay, not sure I'll be getting anything by them, but thanks for the opportunity to hear them. But then again, I might. I did like the track, it's just not what I was expecting.

Love Will Tear Us Apart- Joy Division
I think Elvis covering this would be great. Or El Vez, either one.

Working Class Hero, I think. With the joint pathos of Elvis and John's respective pointless deaths, and all.

Elvis singing a northern hymn is just plain wrong.

I vote for "New York, New York".
