Yes, Neil Gaiman is the shit.

I'm looking forward to this one!

Looks like it's coming to the indie theater in my city later this month. :)

It's at a theater here, and I've heard good things from friends who've seen it.

Hopefully I can catch it this week.

Yeah, as I watched the trailer I said to myself this looks like something Neil Gaiman would come up with and I guess I was right.

When I read the synopsis it made me think of the book The Talisman. Still fairly pissed that that was never made into a movie of some kind.

Is there any word on if this movie will open any broader than what is listed on the web site? I'm probably not going to drive 4 hours to St. louis or 6 hours to Oklahoma to see this flick.

Damn midwestern cultural black hole

OMG, I just watched the trailer, and this truly looks like a piece of Dave McKean art come to life. I need to see this yesterday. Unfortunately, I have plans tonight. Not so unfortunately, those plans include seeing Lhasa live.

I've followed McKean's work ever since he started doing cover art for Front Line Assembly and Download. He's brilliant.

Didn't Dave McKean do Arkham Asylum? That book creeps me out.

I think he might have done one of them.

A must-see. Simply gorgeous eye-candy from start to finish.

The story is classic (some of the more jaded may call it "rehashed", but in my view, Gaiman is such a fantastic story-teller that I still enjoyed it).

Saw this yesterday.

Overall it was really good and definitely worth seeing. I wouldn't even call myself a big fan of McKean or of Gaiman, but I found a lot to enjoy. Lots of awesome creatures in this, the bird/gorillas, little sphinx, orbiting giants, and the little alligator/porcupine guy to name a few.

Still, while I loved most of the visuals, I have to say that certain aspects of McKean's art don't translate so well into 3D. Also the story didn't really pull me in until close to the end. I imagine a lot of people would find it boring.
