Do not see this movie.

The story was great and the acting was fantastic, but this is by far the worst display of editing I have ever seen in my life. I literally had to close my eyes through 1/3 of the movie because it was giving me a headache.

Just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about, watch the trailer and imagine those cutting effects for 2 straight hours. And sometimes it gets more dramatic than the frantic cutting in the trailer. If the director wasn't such a dickhead with the editing, I would have given it 3 1/2 out of 4 stars. As it is right now, I'd barely give it 1 star.

Your thoughts are appreciated, but this movie looks fucking good. Editing is not going to keep me out of the theatre. Though Walken has lost his luster over the years, I still laugh at his hair.

I'm going to invent some software that un-shakeys the shakey-cam. The first iteration should be a fairly straightforward implementation of edge detection and stuff straight out of image processing class...

This is the first image that popped up when I went looking for a picture of Keira Knightley:

Goddamn, I love her.

But this is the one I was looking for:

Christopher Walken was in the movie longer than I expected him to be. You'll definitely see his trademark moments.

Haven't seen the flick but....

I would imagine that Ian Zeiring is big pimpin' it.

DAG is either acting like a pussy or smebbing meth.

I'm interested in seeing this actually. I always enjoy Tony Scott's stuff. I really liked Man on Fire. The addition of some 90210 vets only sweeten the deal.

I didn't think it was all that bad. It didn't suck as bad as the critics said anyways. But Kiera Knightley does not resemble this Domino girl....

Yeah, actually, she kinda does. In a Hollywood totally glamourized kind of way.

And: do they ever? Did Jamie Foxx resemble Ray at all? Who cares?

I guess what I meant to say is...the actual Domino Harvey looks a little more rugged. Kiera does not look rugged at all. She played the part well though.

I wasn't as familiar with what Ray Charles looked like in his prime as much as I was when he got older, but Jamie Foxx was convincing in that role.

I think the point he was trying to make was that "rugged" looking girls don't sell movie tickets. At least not in the volume a big-budget action flick is lookin' for/needs.

Side issue : I give Ms. Knightley points for not going with the fake boobage. She's very attractive as is.

Seconded! I might like to see her eat a few more pancakes and maybe lay off the workouts, however. Soft is good on a woman.

Question, not related to said movie, but to the issue raised above: do any of you actually want women with fake breasts? I like women to be natural, even if it's not some idealized notion of "perfect." I really cannot imagine that breast size is that big of a deal to most guys that they would actually want women to install liquid-filled rubber bags in their bodies. That seems kind of sick and stupid when you put it that way, doesn't it?

More complicated than merely physical implications. Fake breasts boost a woman's confidence (sometimes too much so).

Overall I like a woman to have some self confidence, and if that requires some silicone and it is a good surgery, than so be it. All things equal, I would prefer some real Bs to fake Cs

For the most part, I agree with you. But I have known two women (not directly, mind you) that were basically flat before the surgery. I have no problem with them doing something like that to make themselves feel better. I mean, it's gotta be rough hearing all those boy/men jokes all the time.

And as has been pointed out, it's a confidence booster. One of them got a promotion immediately after the surgery, and it was a white collar job.

Not a fan of the fakes.

And as far as the "confidence boost" element goes, I guess I understand...but I'd prefer the boost came from something natural.

Fake breasts boost the confidence of women who have no self-esteem to begin with.
