The Gris Gris are playing in town tonight, and I'm intent on seeing them. They're playing with the Warlocks. What am I to expect of them?

I was thinking of seeing this same artist set and am interested to see what others say as well.

The Gris Gris are apparently amazing live.

They are a bit hit here in the massive metropolis.

Do you have the record? I love it.

I've only heard the record, and listened to a live set this morning that was dope. I'm going to see them, just want to know if the price of admission for the headliner is worth it.

My sister tried to introduce me to them last Christmas when she visited, but forgot to bring the disk with her.

She tends to prefer bands who are great live.

I saw them about a year ago open for Fiery Furnaces and thought they were great. I hadn't heard of them before, and based on their live performance I bought their album.

If you like their studio stuff, I'd be surprised if you didn't like them live.

Yeah, sorry, I sometimes forget who I'm talking to -- my sister tends to prefer bands who are great live, so yeah -- live, good.

Never seen Gris Gris live, but if the Warlocks show is anything like it was 3 years ago, expect some seriously evil psych-rock. They rocked my ass off. I was on mushrooms at the time.

The Gris Gris were very good. Totally sincere rock that didn't suffer from pretention nor did it enter dance punk territory, though did skirt its edge with aplomb. Not good enough to come home with vinyl.

The Warlocks on the other hand were horrible. One of the worst bands I've ever paid to see. Boring, harmless, inoffensive, elementary. The only good thing about their set is that I was able to leave it early enough to be home by midnight. Seriously seriously seriously seriously seriously seriously disappointing. I now have a vendetta against this band.
