She's 50+, Doctorate in Art History, going to the concert and wants to familiarize herself with U2. I am trying to fit it all down on 1 cd. I will probably keep it on the ballad side with some known anthems tossed in. I know this is easy, but I figured I'd ask the collective obner for forum's sake and shit take(not the mushroom) and see what we get. I'll post the final mix when done.

If she is going to a concert, you may as well put songs that they will most likely play for sure:

"Pride (In the Name of Love"
"One"
"Beautiful Day"
"With or Without You"
"Elevation"
"Vertigo"

As for some of my fav U2 songs:

"Do You Feel Loved?"
"Gone"
"New Year's Day"
"Bullet the Blue Sky"
"Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me"
"Even Better Than the Real Thing"
"Until the End of the World"
"The Fly"
"Vertigo"
"Crumbs From Your Table"
"Kite"
"Elevation"
"Silver and Gold"

They won't play a b-side, but seriously, put on "Hallelujah Here She Comes." If you don't have it and don't want to buy it from iTunes, I'll send it to you. It'll be one of the ones she talks about later.

Here's what they played for their last show. It doesn't vary too much apparently.

Main Set: City of Blinding Lights, Vertigo, Elevation, I Will Follow, The Electric Co., I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, Beautiful Day, Miracle Drug, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, Love and Peace or Else, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Bullet the Blue Sky, Miss Sarajevo, Pride, Where the Streets Have No Name, One

Encore(s): The First Time, Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of, With or Without You, All Because of You, Yahweh, 40

Make a Stiff Little Fingers mix, and then explain that after listening to it, they'll understand that there's no reason on earth for Ireland ever to have puked forth U2.

That "City of Blinding Lights" song is pretty good for recent-era U2.

All the U2 songs I'd put on would be the wrong ones, probably.

It'd be "Oh, you wanted 'Mysterious Ways.' I thought you said 'Shadows & Tall Trees' or 'Mothers Of The Disappeared'."

I just made a mix for my wife's boss too. That's wierd. No U2 though.

I know me too, like " Dirty Day," Elvis Presley & America"(which everyopne seems to hate), "Hawkmoon 269" , but I shall pander to the fluff for recognizability(word?).

I will put the Wide Awake live versions of "Sort of Homecoming" and "Bad", much better than studio IMO.

I hope you're kidding. Compared to this song, "Elevate" is a masterwork.
