Oh geez. I had fun at the first Blade. I saw a little bit of the second like a year after it came out and the cgi already looked a decade old. But you've got to give it to Snipes for finding his niche. The terrorism movies really dropped off after 9/11... he hadda do SOMEthing.

It's weak.

The cinematography is awesome but the story line is really weak. It's like the same story repeated a few times. It's worth it just for the cinematography if you're into that (amazing), but as a whole movie I didn't think it held together & the entire class (of about 15) I saw it with seemed to agree. To think this is the one & only movie that made it to Cannes without ever being screened & then the copy showed up late & threw the schedule off it certainly wasn't worth it.

nah


how familiar are you with wong's other movies? did you get all the references to "in the mood for love"? is key. (otherwise the intensity wouldn't have the same effect i guess, and you could be all WTF. or why the fuck?)

anyway i have to watch it again. he might seem to try a bit too much at the same time, but the "story line" is not weak. (well for one its not supposed to be a story line movie).

the style, the color and cinematography tho. oh my god. this prbly one upped its prequel in that regard. prbly wouldn’t leave me hanging lovesick sad for like a week like IMFL did tho. but i guess that's exactly the point, cuz this movie was meant to be like the sweating out of tony leungs hayfever stuck character from the nostalgic-exhaust fest that was in the mood for love. like an amplifier. you know like imagine if a movie was sick for so long, holding so much in for years, you want to just somehow let it out and ease away through another movie altho in the end you prbly won’t and all that shit is still there hanging all that time. or something.

anyway, must see. (at least for foreign movie buffs)

I'm not at all. But some of the people I watched it with are (which is why we were so excited to see it) & they didn't like it much either.
