I'm liking the new Pinback way more than I anticipated - I haven't wanted to listen to something this often since I first got my hands on "From a Basement on a Hill" in July. There's not one song I don't like, and each one stands out despite a certain amount of sameness in the texture of the album.

Damn Haq!

I was just about to start a thread called "I am really liking......".

Mine was going to be the new pinback.

I just listened to it again this morning and it is getting better and better. I really like the "quietness" of it. Most, if not all, of the guitars have a clean tone to them and the vocals suit the music perfectly. It's a lot more complex than I first gave it credit for, it's really percussive IMO. They use the electric guitar simply but with great effect. Just a solid record of indie pop goodness.

our musical tastes finally intersect and agree (besides the folk/Radiohead likes). This is a good day for humanity.

Yeah, I just listened to this album for the 2nd and 3rd times this morning, and am enjoying it more each time. It was pleasant enough at first blush, but improves significantly with repeated listens. My favorite tracks are Sender and Fortress, but definitely all of them are solid.

I'm a big fan of the new Pinback as well. Saw them again on Wed. night and, once again, they were really good. This is probably going to end up as Schmooable material for me..
