So, I finally downloaded the latest version (156c) last night on my laptop thats running Windows XP and everything was working fine intially. There were both uploads and downloads going on. This morning however I started downloading people's folders which was fine until I found that one guy has over 2000 files in one of them.

Now, when I log in and connect I have the "time out" hourglass in the transfer section of downloads. The status to one of the songs is "Initializing" and the rest are "Remotely Queued", 1758 downloads from 1 user!!!!!

Is there a quick and easy way to get rid of all the requested downloads? If I have to delete them one at a time its going to kill me...it'll take hours. Any suggestions on how to get this working again???? the Soulseek FAQ is no help. I even tried deleting and restarting the program but the files are still there...

Casn you go inside the 'download' box, and hit CTRL-A . it should select 'everything', then if you right click, you should be able to clear it all....

anything?

When it has the hourglass icon displayed you can't do anything!

I closed the program, then reopened it without logging on, then went to the downloads (the top half portion of the split screen) and tried pressing CTRL+A but nothing happens. I can manually go and delete each file ONE AT TIME but that's it. The laptop I have doesn't have a mouse, its got one of those touch pads, can anyone suggest something, other than chucking the computer out the window?

when you unintalled it, did you go into your program folder and delete the soulseek folder that was left behind after the uninstall?

oh and ctrl-a doesnt work.....i hate it when people don't have their stuff in the right folders and you get 2500 songs que'd cuz you chose the 'download containing folder' option

This is how to delete everything. You have name and than status, there is that little notch to separate the two. Move that notch over so you see the full song titles along with the .xxx after it. Highlight the first song and it will turn blue than left click it at the notch between name and status. Hold it down and start going down the page and move over towards status. All songs will turn blue and you can than go really fast to the end of all those song and press DELETE. All songs will disappear and you are set to go. You got all his files because that idiot put everything in just one file. I HATE THAT but it doesn’t happen often.

Welcome to your latest addiction, 5l5k will blow your mind with it’s unparallel selection and over time I have a hell of a lot of friends.

No, like an idiot I didn't...I'm now in the process of doing the uninstall, deleting ALL the slsk folders and their contents right now, then after I defrag my hard drive I'll try to reinstall the program again on a fresh clean slate.

Yeah, I'll never do this again. At least not without looking at what's inside the folder.

WHERE WERE YOU HALF AN HOUR AGO?!

Thanks for the info anyways. I'm sure I'll be able to use it again later.
