I'd like to point out that there are TWO new adam carolla shows, one of which involves EXTREME home improvement. he must have made a deal with the devil.

Don't forget his stellar work on the "Lance In My Pants" radio campaign.

Some people inexplicably ALWAYS get work.

The home improvement show is actually pretty amusing - I've seen a couple episodes.

It's grippy.

He's got to shut up a little in the interviews, he's steamrolling the guests.

I never watched him during the early years, but I've seen a bunch in the last 3 years or so and really enjoyed it. The interview approach of "I'm going to grill you but the joke's on me" allows for some interesting and usually funny interactions.

Also - if anyone has any leads on the last 10 episodes or so, let me know. eztv went down and I missed them all. Comedy Central has the last episode on their website but I want to see them all!

Gonna really miss this show. Here's a Fresh Air retrospective that aired yesterday that I just listened to: http://www.npr.org/2014/12/18/371659078 ... exhaustion

On a related note, I will be fascinated to see if Colbert will able to create a new "self" that works for a normal late night talk show. Letterman was ironic and self-referential a lot (in fact got kind of creaky and annoying in his archness the last few years) but eventually you actually need to ask a guest a straight question and wait for an answer. Although maybe not, Fallon has no ability to actually ask an interesting question nor ever seems he heard and reflected on an answer... he can sing parodies well. I just want to observe whether Colbert can resist falling into the default "character" he's developed so well.
