I love it when this happens.
A friend at work has proven himself to be open and receptive to whatever fucked-up music I choose to lay on him at any given time. Not all of it is well-received, but that's cool because it means he's honest.

It's fun to expose people to new music.

Lay that awesome Wham and Dee-Lite sound on him.

Day One: "Ever heard of Shrimp Boat?"
...
Day 14: "Did I mention Shrimp Boat yet?"

Actually, the woman in the cube next to me went to the Art Insitute with those guys, had classes with them, and actually knew them pretty well. She was shocked when I brought the CDs in with me.

I love those coincidences. Rare, but oh-so-cool.

Just brought back If You're Feeling Sinister and told me that I should "burn it".

Cretin.

I must've misunderstood. I thought you had a new pet, as in guinea pig. They're so cute.

Last week as I was dropping my daughter off at her art class, I happened to comment on the Lee "Scratch" Perry comp the granola-but-cool instructor was playing and her face nearly plummeted to the floor with surprise that I know who he is.

She must have assumed I was just another rural hickie-hoo-haddie-waddie daddy endulging his daughter's arty-farty fix before heading back to the VFW bar or something.

I guess my point is you never really know what other people know about. They often suprise you, regardless of appearance and demeanor-based presuppositions.

He holds some promise. This time, try giving him something listenable.

He hated #1 Record/Radio City, too. So... he's pretty tough to figure.

Well if he doesn't like BS or B&S, then its time to move to an artist without B or S in their name. Maybe try something heavier, like Failure or Autolux. Or maybe you should give him an album by this band I've heard called Hop on Pop and see what he thinks.

In other words, it wasn't the "burn it" that's synonymous with "make me a copy, please".
