Cheney did also work in the Ford administration. Rumsfeld too.

I mean, come on man, the Ford Administration. He's so cool he got to be president and wasnt even elected or anything. Soooooo dreamy.

I was referring to the fact that Greenspan consistently fails to criticize the corporate state and the scandals that have taken place during his time as Chairman. Basically, he doesn't do shit and I expect the same blind support for laissez faire economics from his successor, the results be damned.

Wasn't he supposed to be SecDef in the administration of Bush-41?

I think he, like ye olde boss Mike Deaver, was openly too AAAAAAAAAAHHH to get the job. I think I heard recently that they had it negotiated out to Tower limiting himself to one glass of wine before noon, and he couldn't even abide that.

Well, Greenspan can be criticized for the whole tax cuts thing, IMO, but you gotta remember dude STUDIED under Ayn Rand, its not like he's FOR any kind of interventionist economics policies.

But does that mean he goes to office and plays around on internet message boards all day instead of doing work like the rest of us? I mean I'm not prepared to debate is economic strategy with anyone, but I 've seen no evidence to suggest that the dude has been asleep at the wheel.

He apparently works these days between the hours of 6am and 9am if IIRC..and even then does so from the bathtub...Seriously there was a write up on him in GQ within the last year that says this. His mind is sharpest under these conditions. More power to him. I doubt whoever replaces him will be half the man he is. And, saw Andrea Mitchell on Imus this mornig...I FUH.

I wonder if my boss will believe the "I work best in the bathtub and on the shitter" line? All I need is a telephone and a computer, and I could have the most stellar bathroom/office ever.

You have Greenspan and Lyndon Johnson as examples. I say try it. I work best Poolside at the Polo Lounge.

In the summer I do sheet metal work for a heating company and during the fall/spring I work part time as a computer assistant while I go to college full time.

It's a union shop, but I'm currently not a member because I don't work enough hours there every year. If I decided to work at the heating company as a career (like most of the workers there do), I'd be in the union in a second. The benefits are incredible.

However, I'm going to be graduating and doing a co-op very soon, so I probably won't be working at the heating company anymore.
