The same Tiger Lillies that wrote "Heroin and Cocaine"? That could be interesting.

I don't know what the rest of the new album sounds like, but the 2nd track that I heard is bad pop-punk. I loves me some John Cale, but this is not good.

I'd go, but I'm going to LA tonight. I know tomorrow I'll be hungover so I won't make it up there by 7. :/

He was amazing at Sunset Junction.

Seeing him play "Venus in Furs" was awesome. Definitely worth my $10 bucks.

look at all the lovely acts coming up at hollywood amoeba:

Quote:
Friday - October 28th - 5 pm
AGAINST ME!
It's an early Halloween party with Florida folk-punks Against Me! - performing a special acoustic set in support of their new album “Searching For A Former Clarity” - out now on Fat Wreck Chords!

And playing later that night at The El Rey.

BORIS
Every release from this group is diverse and colossal in its own right, incorporating elements drawn from other sources, including psychedelic rock, garage rock, metal, noise, minimalism, and pure sludge-drone. The Japanese drone band’s latest “Akuma No Uta” is out now on Southern Lord.

Playing live at the Echo November 1st.

Tuesday - November 8th - 6:30 pm
FEIST
Playing later opening for Broken Social Scene at the Henry Fonda Theater.

"From her beginnings almost a decade ago with Calgary punk band Placebo to her more recent association with Toronto indie darlings Broken Social Scene, Feist's musical life has been personal, individual and genre-defying, echoing on a plane far outside the confines of corporate music-making — or marketing — concerns.
On (her new album)"Let it Die", convention is skewered in a collection of songs that brew elements of disco, jazz, hip hop, torch singing and pop into a seamless whole. The resulting musical elixir is as impossible to pin down as the peripatetic Feist herself, who left Toronto last year for Paris..."

STARS
Playing a very special acoustic set from their latest album "Set Yourself on Fire" - out now from Arts & Crafts.

"The Montreal indie-pop masterminds in Stars can take their place beside fellow Great White North invaders such as Metric, the Dears, the Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene, several of whose members play in this band, as well. On their fantastic third album, Stars build cerebral torch songs out of boy-girl vocals, strings, synths, guitars and the occasional French horn. The music is ornate yet light on its feet..."
- Rolling Stone

Also playing with Death Cab for Cutie at the Wiltern later that night.

THE 88
LA sons The 88 celebrate their new CD "Over and Over" with a special in-store set at Amoeba.

"...confirms that the power pop-prodigy has the mix of heart and craft that can yield great rock. There's some Beach Boys buoyancy and a less-manic variation on Hot Hot Heat's effervescence in the album, which revels in the old-fashioned notion that a little pop record can be as grand as a cathedral."
- LA Times

and playing live at the Troubadour December 2nd.
