Hegel, we have precisely the same feelings about the catalogue as far as I can tell :)

And, luckily, I saw 28 Days later at home on DVD, so not only could I comment, I could rewind to enjoy it fully.

<--- geektastic, I know

I like F#A#(infinity) and Slow Riot to New Zero Kanada the best, but I dig 'em all (yes, even Yanqui U.X.O.). I dig all the side projects (which includes pretty much everything on Constellation and Alien8 -- and I like a lot of stuff on them that have nothing to do with GY!BE), too.

Not so much Constellation, but I'm a whore for a lot things on Alien8 and its subsidiaries: Les Georges Leningrad, Shalabi Effect, Tanakh, The Unicorns, Molasses, Acid Mothers Temple, etc.

I really dug Shalabi Effect, Tanakh (did you get the new one?), and Molasses, but for some reason, Les Georges Leningrad did nothing for me...did I miss something? I'll have to check the others out (I didn't realize Acid Mothers Temple was alien8).

I loves me some alien8. My favorites:

Polmo Polpo - Science of Breath
Acid Mothers - Electric Heavyland, not digging the new one so much.
Shalabi Effect - Pink Abyss, big improvement over their first one.
Tim Hecker - Mirages, My Love is Rotten to the Core, Haunt Me. Yep, I'm a big Tim Hecker fan.
Daniel Menche - Eye on the Steel

also, i rarely listen to them anymore, if at all.

me too. I must not be in the mood much anymore. Them and Mogwai just seem to stay on the shelf.

I haven't gotten the new Tanakh yet. How is it?

Les Georges really isn't along the lines of the rest of the roster on Alien8, but I really like what I've heard from em. If you are looking for more experimental post-rock or new folk stuff, most of the label is ace, though.

Acid Mothers Temple has had a few albums released on Alien8, but I don't think they are exclusively signed to them or anything.

Most excellent! Right along the lines of Dieu Deuil, methinks. Medigs the Tim Hecker stuff, too.

Really? I had gotten the impression that it was more ambient and didn't have vocals. Mayhaps I am wrong about this. I was still interested in ordering it at some point though.

No, you are not wrong. I don't know what I was thinking, perhaps something else...I listened to them both last night, and they are completely different. The new Tanakh (entitled, cleverly, Tanakh) sounds more like a Shalabi Effect album.

I forgot how good Dieu Deuil was, though. Sort of somewhere between the Devics and Calexico, neh?
