i'm likin' it but need more listens. probably won't make my top 20 and is currently slated for around the middle of 2004 entries, but that can change.

Right on. It's slated for the 10-15 slots for me right now. It's been moving farther from the top 5 for the past 2 weeks.

Actually, you can vote for whatever you want, even Exile On Main Street, but you just may be the only one.

Actually, I haven't narrowed it down to three yet, but most of 'em would get one vote anyways, so I'll stick with ones that have been listed already, inasmuch as I care to:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Abattoir Blues/The Lyre of Orpheus
Fiery Furnaces, Blueberry Boat
Franz Ferdinand

Other contenders (the ones that would only get my vote if I posted 'em):

Auf Der Maur
Björk, Medúlla
Dresden Dolls
Einstürzende Neubauten, Perpetuum Mobile
Ghost, Hypnotic Underworld
Múm, Summer Make Good
Neurosis, Eye of the Storm

And I only mention this just in case you want to give yourself a "booby prize".

Right now, I'd say it's;

1. Iron and Wine - Our Endless Numbered Days
2. Rogue Wave - Out of the Shadow (I'm counting this as 2004, should I?)
3. Ambulance Ltd. - LP

I think...

Thank you. I was fairly certain I wasn't going to be the only one counting it as an '04 release.

Animal Collective - Sung Tongs
PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her
Nick Cave - Abattoir/Lyre

Admittedly, PJ Harvey and Nick Cave are two of my all time favorite artists and I am highly biased.

Deerhoof, Squarepusher, and Lali Puna had good albums too.

I haven't heard as many albums this year as the last few, but from what I have heard it hasn't been that great a year for music.

Joanna Newsom should be in my top three.

I used to go to the same school as her.
