Fiiiiiinally back online after Wilma whopped our ass. No structural damage to our home, but lost power for a few days, and because I didn't board up, that shit scared the life outta me. Never seen anything so violent. I thought for sure one of our windows was going to blow in. Got some video...try to upload it later.

Luckily my wife's parents up north had power, so we stayed there for a few days. I bought the Lords of Chaos book right before the hurricane, so that had me thoroughly entertained the entire time. If you've yet to read it, go buy it now.

So yeah, what did i miss? Anyone get married? Any good fights or threads about lust? Is OPA still gay? Fill me in.

took some video on my digicam during it, so i'll try to get it up by tonight.

i realized we were in trouble at around 1am while watching the news. didn't want to wake my wife up. i finally fell asleep after pacing my home for 2 hours, and when i woke up, Wilma started to bring the pain. No boards up meant we could watch it the entire time, which was fucking horrifying. After the first part of the storm, there were:

2 halves of 2 large trees
a patio set including cuchions
a hand saw
a soccer ball
a dining room sized window shutter

all in my back yard. None of them were mine.

We went over to Kristen's sisters house [2 miles away] during the eye of the storm, and rode out the 2nd, and most violent, half of the storm. Because her porch was facing the opposite direction of the oncoming part of the storm, we were able to stand close on the front porch, and watch as everything from tree limbs to shutters to car parts fly by at over 100 miles per hour. Seriously, the most fucking twisted thing I've ever experienced.

Luckily my iPod was charged, and Slayer was my guide.
