Wow! The Magic Numbers have definitely grown since seeing them open for The Doves. Lots more confidence onstage, allowing themselves to actually have a good time vs looking like frightened bunnies. Singing practically the entire album plus a few extras, the harmonies of this band continue to amaze me. At one point in time, I literally had tears in my eyes and the hair on my arms were standing on end from the sheer beauty of it all. Not many artists/bands affect me that way, yet, they in their simplicity managed to do so. They are so, so fuckin' good!

I had tickets for their late show, but was exhausted and knowing I had another show tonight, I gave my ticket away. Maybe I should've offered it to one of you guys. Ah well...

The Webb Brothers opened for them. To tell you the truth, I don't remember if I've ever seen them live before. So, being a bit familiar with their sound, I kept an open mind. They were good, not great, but kept my head bobbing and my foot tapping.

'Twas a very good night in West Hollywood.

(Tonight: Pete Yorn and friends performing a benefit concert)

Just got their album yesterday and it's really damn good. This has potential Top 10 for me. Seeing them and the Doves would be a perfect match.

That particular Doves / Magic Numbers show was one of the BEST. Being a huge fan of The Doves helped, but being introduced for the first time to MN made that particular night over the top.

I keep seeing the Magic Numbers' disc in Tower, and haven't picked it up. I think you pushed me over the edge.

The only reason I didn't get it before is because I got a 2-song EP w/ Forever Lost, which I love and Idea Of A Feeling (exlusive non album B-side) which is pretty bad.

Oh, and thanks for the review. 8)

I like the disc a lot. And for some reason I can listen to the first song on repeat for a very long time.
