No, I don't care if this pisses anyone off.

You shouldn't say "Obners" because I am pretty sure i'm the only person who talks about Tom Waits. Tom Waits. TOM WAITS. Tom Fucking Waits.

I love him.
About the rest...
How can you say this? The Clash? The Rolling Stones? Basically you want us to stop talking about good, prolific artists.
I agree on the rest. Well, mainly the Wrens and CYHSY because I see them talked about the most. I don't get the appeal, and I also get the feeling that I don't connect with anyone other than my boyfriend here musically. Anyways. I agree and disagree... and you'll never get me to shut up about Tom Waits.

Polka, a lot of us love Waits. It's just some of us have been fans since before you were born and have already hyped it up years and years ago.

Sometimes the obsession is curious but somewhat understandable(not that I mean Rolling Stones or Tom Waits or anything ).

Sometimes it's thoroughly baffling but somewhat cute (not that I'm thinking of New Radicals or anything).

Sometimes there are decent bands (Wrens, National, etc) that are super-loved by a vocal few and I just accept the fact that I don't get it.

I don't understand. Just because the majority of his fans are more than twice my age means that I can't talk about Tom Waits, and like him just as much?

If there is something i'm not getting I think it should be explained because I don't think it's logical to say I shouldn't be talking about my favorite musician just because of what I stated previously.

I wanted to comment on this too. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and their own musical interests and everything. I get that. I don't care what other people listen to, if it makes them happy. I just don't get the appeal, like you.

I'm sick of hearing about Zulu Hullabaloo, a band I made up just then.

They're certainly not as good as Shambolic Trumpets.

I never said you shouldn't talk about Waits.

I was replying to your comment that no one else talks about him. I talk about him plenty when I feel lead to. It's just that I'm not a massive gusher about much of anything. Everyone here knows I like Kate Bush, but I certainly don't go on daily rhapsodies about her.

Talk about whomever you want as much as you want. It doesn't necessarily follow that no one else likes those artists another person is gushing about. Some just don't do "gush."

Alright I understand. It was just unclear in your previous message. And no, I never said/thought I was the only fan on the board, just the (one of) the only ones who talks about him a lot. Glasslizard always throws in Waits references in their posts, though.

Interestingly, shambolic trumpets is the phrase that the members of Johnny Taint & the Cans of Piss use to describe groupies's ta-tas.

Now this is complete bullshit. Zulu Hullabaloo was around long before your precious "Trumpets" and thier seminal album, released in 1879, "Get The Fuck Out Of Our Continent You Bloody Limeys" was a widely acclaimed masterpiece at the time.

Half the time they're not really available in the states, so it's hard to feel oversaturated.

But they should be. Konstantin's judgment is QUAL.
