Ridicules, it's only the beginning of November, so they had to do this even a few more weeks back. Fortunately, I have until the middle of January to get mine together.

BTW, I'm not going to post every single list like I did last year. I was so sick of lists after that, so only the bigger rags will get posted, from me at least. Uncut only because they are so far ahead of everyone else and give you something to chew on.

I picked this up simply because of the Orange Juice article.

I'm kind of 50/50 on Uncut's list. I really dislike some of it and but it's good to see Coco Rosie, Smog and Lightning Bolt on the list.

Lightning Bolt is a bit of surprising pick...not the typical Uncut type fare. I'm also a bit surprised that they don't have Richard Thompson & Ry Cooder ranked higher.

I usually like Uncut's list about as much as anyones and this one is pretty underwhelming so I kind of feel pretty good about not buying as much new stuff this year.

Naw...I usually buy a couple of hundred new albums and then complain that its a subpar year....this year I bought less than 25 and am saying it looks like a subpar year.

I'll say this for the 14,000 time. 'Funeral' wasn't released in the UK until April 2005.

The OJ is a winner. Other than that, the Gorillaz album is the highest ranked one I own (and that only to please my teenage upstairs neighbor, who thinks I'm a role model, of all things).
