The final issue of the House Of M miniseries is out now.

Your thoughts?

Thoughts:

If the House Of M isn't an S&M comic like Big Black Kiss was I'd be very disappointed.

As you can clearly see, I haven't picked up a new comic book since 1988.

I bought it but haven't read it yet. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done with it.

I read it last night. I thought it was alright but as a summer/fall comics event it's lagging way behind DC's Infinite Crisis. I'm sure I'll probably read most of the crossovers but it just seems like eventually someone is going to force the Scarlet Witch to give the mutants their powers back.

But who's to say Wanda still has her powers? It seems if she didn't want anybody to have any powers, she wouldn't want any anymore either. With Prof X and Magneto both out of commission, the mutant world seems screwed.

I'm pretty sure she still has her powers since she only said "No More Mutants", which excludes her.

I couldn't figure out who still had their powers. I know the 6 at the end who confronted Magneto did but I couldn't understand why they were all freaking out about Wolverine earlier in the issue. And why is Nightcrawler talking like he just learned english?

And is that thing at the end the Phoenix?

1) Scarlet Witch is a mutant, so it's not clear if she has her powers or not.

2) If Wolverine loses his powers, then he dies because the adamantium poisons him. But, it seems he didn't lose them, so all is well.

This story was decent, but it seems the only point was to set up future stories, so we'll see where it goes.

It sounds like the only people who didn't lose their powers were those present when SW whispered the words. They didn't because Emma Frost and Dr. Strange managed to shield them.

Magneto doesn't have his powers, so it'll be interesting to see if Wanda or Pietro still do. Quicksilver was not seen at all in issue eight so it remains to be found out where he is, what he's doing, etc. since this part of Wanda's fucking-up-the-universe was his fault.

Shmoo covered the Wolverine question.

My concern is, like shmoo said, this was intended to set up future storylines. I don't collect any mutant titles because there's far too many but I'm still interested to find out what happens. Hopefully there'll be mentions or cross-overs in New Avengers and other titles.

It was decent, but then again, i'm not a big fan of Marvel.

Did you read the first issue of Infinite Crisis?

I did, and even though I was lost half the time and I think I need to go back and re-read COIE, it was pretty awesome.

On another note: Is the last page of Daredevil #458 one of the best endings ever?

I went to the comic store yesterday to pick up Crisis On Infinite Earths, but it was sold out. I bought Crisis On Multiple Planets instead.

Good stuff.

Spiderman - "The Other" has been pretty decent so far.
That's about all I'm interested in with the exception fo House Of M.

I may buy Son Of M whenever it comes out.

I don't read any DC so I'm left out of that discussion.

I bought SM: The Other part 1 and 3 but couldn't find MKSM here for some reason so I've only read the first issue of Friendly Neighborhood.

Who is Son Of M? Have they clarified who that series is going to be about?

And shiv, the end of DD458 just further situates Bullseye as one of the baddest ass villains in the Marvel Universe. A single playing card shooting through the air right at Elektra's neck. But is he really going to attempt to tangle with DD, Elektra, Black Widow, and White Tiger? I don't recall him as being particularly stupid.

Daredevil has been awesome lately Every issue is great. I can't wait to see what happens in the next issue.

Daredevil and Warren Ellis's 3 new series (Fell, Desolation Jones, and Jack Cross; or as I like to call them, 3 more excuses to not write a new Planetary issue) have been my recent favorites. I haven't read House of M. I've relegated it to "I will read the trade paperback at Borders" status.
