I love Love Spirals Downward, but I never thought of them as goth. I still love Dead Can Dance and don't think of them as goth.

I guess goth for me was about mascara. The Cure.

bauhaus, yes - but maybe 'Dancing'
Um, joy division, anyone? If there's a band the goth kids all like, this is it. New Dawn Fades, at a guess.
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Hollow Eyes.
17 Seconds era Cure.
Nick Cave.
The Mission.

Please, can we leave FoTN out of it, just for once? The whole goth cowboy thing, I just can't get on board.

This is so much better of a play list, those suicide girls are teaching our youth well. I have been wanting to play Killing Joke’s Nightime for about two months now. It has been coming up quite a bit as of late. I only have it on vinyl and to actually have the desire to play something like the Cult’s Love might just make me hook up that record player again.

Except a bunch of those songs should be filed under "Industrial", no?

I think its time for me to accept that "Goth" is pretty much uncategorizable as a music genre.

someone got it.

Goth or whatever you call it was around in the late 70s/early 80s so it has grown up. Echo was never goth but neither was the Mission UK, they were much closer to U2.
