i don't like art galleries, i wish are was more a part of every day life.
(ok, i like going to art galleries, but i think they are far from an ideal way to appreciate art)

do you know ITP (interactive telecommunications program) @ nyu? it's basically an art and technology program. anyway, one of these wood mirror dealies that a student made is up there too. unless this is the same artist, i have to wonder if its a total ripoff. they also made one with metal pins, i think.

i like art galleries but they can be very intimidating. some are more accessible than others. sometimes the people working there are more eye candy than knowledgable assistants. i ask questions and have even asked to see things in the back but i always let them know i'm not buying beforehand in case they're busy.

museums are great and many of them offer free days but i really think it's important for them to do sattelite outreach programs into schools, libraries and communities.
