I'm just now listening to Junkie Faithful by The Ike Reilly Assassination for the first time, and it is Kicking. My. Ass.

To be honest, while I own his first two albums, I've never thought either was as great as the likes of LooGAR, E-Fu, Billz, Haq, and Bloor make them out to be. But THIS is really scratching me right where I itch!

The funny thing is, everyone says this third album is a grower, as opposed to the immediate gratification of the first two...but it's been exactly the opposite for me. Anyway, this is an excellent album.

That means the band have a tibia fracture instead of the full floppage of the lower leg.

Yes, from Chi-town.

RIYL: Clash, Cash, Dylan, Cowboy Junkies, Stones, probably a host of others.

Yeah, and an appreciation for, but not a jones to perform rap.

This guys influences were Cash, The Clash and Ice Cube/NWA as far as I can tell, and I think that might be why it grabbed me by the neck and held my ear to the stereo. This album is less "immediate" than the first 2, but a damn is this good.

Yeah, I really do have to pick up some of his work. I've been told for years by a couple friends, my brother, and you guys how great he is, time for me to finally find out.

Maybe I will this weekend.

Thanks- I was looking thru the cheapo bin at Tower today, and saw Sparkle In The Finish and nabbed it. Might be a good thing.

Will trade a CD copy of mine for a copy of yours.

That's the only one of his I've heard, and....well, it didn't get it done for me. I think I was expecting more grit.....or something.

Yes, I was expecting more grit, less sophomoric humor.
