Just got the book in the mail a few days ago, pre-ordered it a while ago.

Anyway, only reason I got was because it came with unreleased b-sides from AGIB.

http://www.billboard.com/bb/daily/artic ... 1000628009

that's a link to content of the cd...let me just say that it's fucking brilliant.

this might be one of my top 10 albums of the year, even though it's very unofficial and small and that would be putting 2 wilco albums on my top 10, but it definitely merits it.

exploring the time of space, you get great improv, an alternate version of hummingbird, and awesome noise. noise like they do live at the end of "handshake drugs", not noise like at the end of "less than you think" on the album for you haters out there.

if i can get my slsk to work, i'll share it. just post your slsk name here if you'd like to get on my list. i'm cmanhatan.

still trying to find an online track listing.

Wait, so how do I buy it? Is it a seperate cd, or is it like part of the book? And how much does it cost?

*edit* Ok, i answered my question.

Is the book worth it though? Or just the cd?

Haha, thanks. Always appreciate the love.

The book is damn cool and has some interesting insights into the music making process Wilco's way, narrative/autobiographical tidbits from band members, as well as totally trippy and cool Radiohead-type nuttiness in the beginning.

Really only for the big Wilcohead. A lot of money for a CD, and one that you might find abrasive.

For me, worth owning. For most people, probably worth getting on slsk.

I didn't even think it was worth getting on Soulseek, but apparently some people (you) seem to dig it. I certainly fall into the "Wilcohead" category, but didn't even like the less abrasive moments on this disc.

Oh well. I'm too busy listening to the new Luna album anyway.

I'll have to go home and listen to it to get some specific examplse of what is awesome, but man freaking Pure Bug Beauty. Clearly another attempt at Company in my Back, and some of the more ambient textures are awesome, sound like something out of "Eternal Sunshine."

I can't get enough of it. Awesome background music and people are always asking about it.

Ijust realized that I downloaded it a few weeks ago and haven't listened to it yet. Sounds like I need to, based on what you have said, Chase.

Yeah, I have every Wilco (well, Tweedy) release, that is available. I'm certainly a Wilco head.

I'll buy it soon.

i just got the book yesterday, and after listening to the disc, i was thinking of posting something like "don't buy this just for the music".
the book is awesome, but the disc left a lot to be desired. definitely seemed like b-side material or studio experimentation. plus the disc is really hard to get back on the little nobby thing on the back cover of the book....

yeah i don't plan on putting it back there...i'll get a case for it and keep it somewhere else...after making my second copy of it that i can toss around and not feel bad about.

i don't know..this is the crazier side of wilco that i wanted to see. and i'm seeing it.

i hope they keep experimenting, and keep doing wilder and wilder stuff, and keep transforming their live shows into more and more of an awesome jam fests, iwth all the songs they have. i mean, bustouts people, there are actual wilco bustouts.

Sorry to top this again, but it was reviewed on Shitfork today, and they gave it a better rating than AGIB, for what it's worth.

When I went to Border's to buy it the other day, they didn't have it. So i'll probably get it this week.

After my first run-through (finally), there are a few throwaways and obvious b-sides, but there are also some damned good songs on the bonus disc.

and i happen to think the throwaways are interesting enough that to carry the rest of the album through. i mean, it's no amnesiac, but it's still damn cool.

I'm probably in the same boat as you. I enjoy the "throwaways" enough to listen to the again.

Alright, I'm dead broke right now...and I've been to quite a few bookstores and record shops and haven't been able to clearly find it. Who has it on soulseek so I can listen temporarily until I get sufficient money to spend, and time to read (Christmas)
