hey, i'm interested to hear what you think of the following '05 albums:

decemberists.picaresque
my morning jacket.z
brendan benson.the alternative to love
super furry animals.love kraft

i'm not sure if you've heard all of these yet. but the reason i ask is that i know that each of these artists have had past album(s) that you've held in high regard, but it seems you've kinda soured on some of their more recent releases. just wondering what you think of these newest releases.

I've only heard the first two and not enough to have really strong opinions, but neither did much for me. I think I read someone here say the MMJ sounds like a very poor man's Flaming Lips album and I thought that was a good description but that's based on only one listen.

I really don't care much for any of Brendan Benson's albums. I once owned Lapalco and One Mississippi but sold both. I generally think he puts out bland powerpop with overly predictable hooks. That said, I haven't heard the new one.

I like Radiator but thought Rings around the World and Phantom Power were mostly forgettable. I haven't checked out the new one and probably won't unless I hear that its a whole lot better than the last two.
