Some guy from comcast.net in Philly; supposed to be a 3:00 EST announcement.

Sorry I got nothing better right now and I'm not at home so I can't listen to WIP....

Maybe I should have thrown an "allegedly" in there.

I think they should trade him to the Saints as punishment instead.

This will single-handedly sink one of my teams this year...

Good thing it's not a money league.

Well, he will be released eventually, but you are right about the present:

CBS Sportsline Wrote:
Eagles say they're finished with Owens
Philadelphia coach Andy Reid says WR Terrell Owens has been suspended for four games for conduct detrimental to the team, and won't return this season after that.

It's a good thing the Bengals are stocked at wide receivers.

Seriously though, has there ever been as talented a player be such a completely loathsome attention whore?

In the ultimate team sport he is the ultimate I player.

I really wish that the owners would collectively get together and agree to not let him play on ANY team.

Go away TO, just go away.

I was just telling the wife that he's got ego issues on a Rodman status level.

Yeah at the end of the year he's gone...Eagles will be lucky to stay out of the NFC East basement..Especially if McNabb keeps on throwing interceptions like he did at the end of last nights game...He should just get that surgery and get ready for next year...This year is done...Maybe they can suck real bad and get a decent pick in the draft ...

It's not gonna happen but it'd be awesome if the Eagles won the Super Bowl w/o TO and then didn't give him a ring.

What the hell is this guy's problem?!?!? You're getting paid MILLIONS of dollars a year. You make more in one half of a football game where you only play 50 plays than I do in a YEAR.

This guy is a piece of shit and I have no respect for him. His sense of entitlement is up there with the gross abusers of corporate power.

Owens out for the rest of the season

That would be great if he was stuck playing in the CFL or Europe.

i take TO's side on this. Does anyone disagree with anything that he's said lately? Is it an unreasonable argument to say that the Eagles with a healthy Brett Farve would be better than the Eagles with a dinged up McNabb? Would having a celebration for his 100th touchdown have killed anyone? Was he worth maybe a bit extra money in the off-season? To me this entire thing is about egos, both the organization's and TO's, and the fact that TO hurt their feelings. Their reaction was to go from the team they were a week ago, with a stunted running game and a back that they were trying to shortchange to go with a banged up QB and one deep threat, to where they are now, playing mediocre as a team, putting up ten points, and assuming sole posession of last place of what was an emminently winnable decision. Now they've given up on a season in the name of pride. The analogy is with Rodman or Kobe, both hugely disruptive but productive presences, and you find a way to win if that's the goal of the organization. The Eagles picked misguided pride and thus are going to waste what should have been the easiest NFC defense that they've ever seen, as there's maybe 3 good teams in the NFC all together.

they said 4 week suspension and then he's not coming back after that. i think that the 4 week deal is the longest that they can suspend him for fun.

I'm just waiting for the generic "FREE T.O." shirt w/ his face in the middle, much like they did for Winona Ryder/Mary Kate/OJ/Kobe et al...

That'll be B-A-N-A-N-A-S...I'll Rock it like The Darkness, yo - with pride and a healthy side of irony...

You are fucking nuts here Crackhead. If you think that that this shit stems from him not getting props for his 100th TD you are missing the point----To wit: Dude has a history of throwing his teamates/coaches/bosses under the bus (see Greg Knapp/Jeff Garcia, who NFN made him what he is {ya know that pass oriented, pro style UTC offense has been lightin' it up for years}, not having the uhhh INTELLIGENCE to monitor his own agent, playing off the Ravens, plus this whole fucking fiasco since he has been in Philly including this bullshit in the offseason).

There is no Jordan or Shaq or Tragic or Wilt de Stilt in the NFL.

This ain't pride, this is business, and as much as I fucking hate the Eagles and as much as I have actually supported (go figure) TO over the years because I have an incredible amount of empathy for him as a man and respect for him as a player----that shit has ended. Football is the ultimate team sport.....what great football player was ever bigger then their team?
TO has a fucking serious, I-need-to-go-see-somebody problem.

Good points, Joey Crack. Also,

1. TO was not the one who came up with the Favre statement on his own, he was asked about it. And the fact is, McNabb IS injured.

2. Not only did the Eagles not celebrate 100 TDs, they said they were unaware it was even coming up.

3. The Eagles were ALWAYS planning on releasing TO before next year, when they would have had to pay him a big chunk of money.

That is why he wanted a new contract. They took advantage of his old agent missing the deadline (which was changed on him), to get him cheap for this year, with the plan of releasing him before having to pay the big bucks in the laters years of the contract. NFL contracts aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Still, TO is a total jerk, and I don't feel sorry for him.
