Called "the Close." Any of y'all familiar with them?

Seemed nice enough.

Good choice in Orange guitar amps.

I wasn't trying to hype them or anything. I was hoping some of our ATL-affiliated types might have some exciting local music scene info on them and whatnot.

I'm good friends with the singer Brooks, we grew uo together. And my friend Marlow used to live with scrawny little bass player until he started dating his ex-girlfriend.

I haven't seen them play in a while. Pretty good band in my opinion.

What's your bands name? I 'm sure I'll see Brooks around soon.

I'm familiar with the band. Haven't pulled the album out in several months though. Maybe I should revisit them today...

I think that they ar ea much better band than the records would have you believe. Pretty impressive for a D.I.Y. at wharehouse where thay all live.

Is this some plan to keep their stuff from being stolen?

Brooks seemed like an awfully decent sort. We were a bit preoccupied with some band stuff all night (met up with our mixing guy), so I didn't get a chance to talk with them much.

I'm in the Bon Savants.

Just that it would be pretty hard to move stolen orange amps.

I know what's going wrong here. Orange is a brand of amp. Expensive, british, and of course orange-colored as well. Not "they spray-painted their amps orange."

a ha.

Brooks and I play the exact same amp is all I was trying to say.

In point of fact, it's the only other Orange 30W twin I've seen.

I associate Dead Meadow with Orange amps.

Lotsa folks have sported them... Decemberists, Jimmy Page way back when, Travis. That I've seen, anyway.

Right, but the 30W combo? I've seen plenty of head/cab configs (Sloan, Hum), but the "Orange AC30" not so much.

I think it may very well have been the best NY show we've played, so for that, I'm sorry you couldn't make it! Goodness knows you and Katie have suffered through some tepid venues/sets!

Next time...

for a second i thought you said "the last nyc venue we've played," which would have not only been grammatically spurious but also would have caused me to say "ah-whaaaa?"

as it is, i'll just have to try and make your next pianos show.

.... now that I think about, the decemberists had at least one Orange 2x12 up there. Couldn't see whether it was their version of the ac30. I asked the keyboardist, Jenny, about the shiny new expensive gear, and she said something about them splurging a little after their gear got stolen.
